Bear Valley, CA...New Year’s Eve Extravaganza! New Year’s Eve Celebration at the Lodge! On one special night each year, we get together to celebrate friends, family and those that we hold most dear. Join us to raise a glass, dance the night away and ring in the New Year at Bear Valley’s annual New Year’s Eve Party. We’ll have live music, a balloon drop at midnight followed by a fantastic fireworks show that will light up the snow-capped mountains. Bear Valley’s annual celebration is an unforgettable way to gather with those that are near and dear to bring in the new year!

Arnold, CA...Live Music and dancing with the Fabulous Bill Welles Band. This is a special event and will not be open to the public without advanced purchase tickets. There will be limited seating. We'll be serving specialty drinks at the bar, providing an intimate ambiance and a lovely night to ring in the new year!

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Another beautiful day is in order as the high will be around 49F and mostly sunny skies with SE winds in the a.m. then shifting to the SW in the afternoon from 3-7mph. The ridging continues into Friday and the a weak low passes through late Saturday night and into Monday. There is a struggle between the GFS and ECMWF models for something on Wednesday but the differences lead to low confidence of a solid chance of snow mid week following the weekend at this time. It's a great time to take a lesson or just bring the Family up for some tubing or a try at the climbing wall we have set up off the Lower Breezeway deck. A very Happy Holidays to all, we're about "Pure Mtn Fun" so come check us out this Winter !!!!! stay tuned.

Bear Valley, CA...Paul Says Santa's Helpers have been working hard to put together some activities for Christmas week Tuesday, December 26th through Sunday, December 31st, we anticipate being gainfully open with: Tubing from 9am to 4pm (ages 3 & up) Snow Biking (limited availability) from 9am to 12 noon. Beginner Cross Country Ski Lessons at 10:30am. Meadow Café from 11am to 3pm. Morning Holiday Ice Skating for 1 hr. sessions from 9am to Noon snow & ice conditions permitting. (Sorry, there will not be any groomed cross country ski trails or xc ski rentals available until we receive more snow.) We have 125 pairs of new XC skis in stock, our service department is open and the new winter clothing and gift items are looking great. Please stay in touch, come shop our sale and remain excited for a wonderful winter of fun!
Murphys, CA...Christmas Day brings a 34-year Calaveras tradition, a free community dinner hosted by Murphys Friends. December 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Native Sons Hall on Main Street in Murphys, it will be turkey with all the trimmings, and gifts for the young people. This tradition started in 1983 at the Utica Hotel in Angels Camp by Bob Bach, Richard Wilmshurst, Alan Corell and Renee Weaver Saletta. It now has about 40 volunteers, some who have been doing this for years.

Bear Valley, CA...Bear Valley Mountain opens for 7 Day a week operations today. The snowmaking team has been hard at work building the snow base and cold weather patterns should continue to support high snowmaking production levels. In addition to the base and beginner areas, the snowmaking is focused on Mokelumne West and getting a run off the top of the mountain open as soon as possible. For this weekend, we are confirming the following services and activities at Bear Valley Mountain! Panda Carpet, Cub Carpet, Terrain Park boxes near Koala, Sledding, Rock Climbing Wall, Cub Chair is tentative – stay tuned!
