(Editor's Note: We did a bit of digging and a temporary plank bridge 14 foot wide, 60 foot long & 90,000 lbs capacity can be rented for $3,000 to $5,000 per month. It seems this might be the best solution for this summer and fire season as it would restore functionality until they can knock out the repairs.)

Murphys, CA...The 25th Annual edition of Murphys Irish Day, an event that always attracts thousands of people from throughout northern California, will be presented by the Murphys Business Association on Saturday March 18. The celebration pays tribute to the town’s Celtic heritage and is always held on the third Saturday in March in honor of the patron saint of Ireland.
Arnold, CA...The Arnold Branch Library will commemorate 50 years in Arnold with a week-long celebration May 23-28, 2017. Our festivities will include Patron Appreciation Day, Children's Day, Story Time with a firefighter and a visit to the Ebbetts Pass Fire Station #1, an author panel and book signing (Robin Burcell, Catriona McPherson, Allison Brennan, Eileen Rendahl, and Cindy Sample -- all award-winning Northern California Mystery writers), a visit from the State Librarian, Greg Lucas, a VIP Reception and the week ends with our annual Giant Book Sale. Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Expect possible delays with Mtn Operations today's with increasing winds and snowfall 7" of new snow as of 5am this morning overnight and 10" in the last 24hrs. A mix of rain /snow is expected through the day today as the warm air aloft arrives with a projected snow elevation level of 7000'. 1-3" of snow is possible today with a 50/50 chance that it could go either way today being full rain or snow., we'll just have to wait and see how it plays out over the next few hours. The expected high is suggested to be 36F and falling to 28F by 3pm or so. Winds will be out of the South from 18-23mph with gusts to 34mph. Tonight will continue with a mix of rain and snow as the temp will again rise to around 38F during the early morning of Tuesday coupled with high winds in the 40-48mph range with gusts to 75mph and continuing out of the South. Tuesday could drop another 7-11" of new snow as the temps fluctuate and winds will again be out of the South from 31-36mph with gusts to 55mph. The Lower Mtn will be on hold today due to the higher elevation snow levels as concerns there are Avalanche related. It's been a handful of years since we've seen these type of events so expect some possible delays with operations in and around the resort over the next 4-5 days. Someone's been talking to Ullr............ Come up to Bear Valley and experience our local "Pure Mtn Fun" ethos and stay tuned..........
