San Andreas, CA... “The Dark Side of Sustainability,” a presentation by Heather Gass of Citizens Town Hall, will be heard at the Calaveras County library in San Andreas, 1299 Gold Hunter Rd. in San Andreas on October 17 at 2:30. Sponsored by the Calaveras County Republican Party, Ms. Gass’s presentation will highlight Agenda 21, its key concept “sustainability,” and its effect on our county’s proposed General Plan.
Citizens Town Hall is a bay area group fighting, among other measures, the One Bay Area Plan that grew out of The California Sustainable Communities and Climate Protection Act of 2008, signed by then Governor Schwarzenegger and scheduled for implementation this year. The plan seeks to implement a strategy of increasing the density of population in the bay area with measures that include much of the same language and components found in the proposed Calaveras County General Plan. Ms. Gass will explain how backers of Agenda 21 seek to spread their influence to foothill communities and the effect of that effort on individual property rights.
Heather Gass is a realtor in Contra Costa County and a member of the East Bay Area Tea Party Patriots. She has been an outspoken critic of UN Agenda 21and the International Council on Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) the domestic entity promoting Agenda 21 in the U.S. |
