Enjoy toe-tapping music, the likes of which can only be played by the Champion Fiddle Player, David Rainwater. Laugh at the wit and story telling by the incomparable Mark Twain.

For one night only, the two will take the stage together at the Bret Harte High School Theater in Angels Camp, the week before Frog Jump. Save the day of Saturday May 11, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. when this unique performance will take place.

Pat Kaunert, who lives in Sonora, is the image of Mark Twain. He has lived a journalistic life-style similar to Twain. As a U.S. Forest Service officer, he worked as a western forest news correspondent, writing adventuresome stories about life in the mighty Sierra Nevada. It has been his life-long quest to know Mark Twain, the man who was so insightful about human nature and who was able to record it in such an entertaining way through his stories. Pat Kaunert faithfully recreates the same kinds of witty and humorous performances that brought fame to Mark Twain as he appeared throughout America, Europe and even the Far East.

“I want to change the world one fiddle tune at a time,” says Dave Rainwater, champion fiddle player. For 45 years, he has been doing just that. He has performed for countless audiences, entertaining them with his humorous anecdotes and toe-tapping fiddle music. Dave, who lives in Jamestown, has won numerous fiddle competitions, including a blue ribbon at the most prestigious Galax Fiddlers’ Convention in Virginia.
