5:30 Social; 6:00 program
Start at CAMPS, then drive to the Site
*This tour will involve trail walking. Walking shoes advised.*
ACBA’s first Members’ Program of the fall-winter season.
Here’s an opportunity to learn more about the rich cultural heritage of our town by touring some of the early Mi-Wuk, ranching and mining sites located in Greenhorn Creek.
We start with a Social at 5:30 pm at Camps, followed by our Program at 6 pm with a historical overview by local historian Judith Marvin. We’ll then drive from Camps to the site and walk from there. It’s easy walking but the trail has some slippery parts, so wear walking shoes and bring a walking stick if you want.
Please note that the Mi-Wuk sites are sacred and off-limits. However, we will be able to see them and learn more about the Mi-Wuks’ role in the early history of Angels Camp.
