03:00 PM Calaveras Community Band Fall Concert
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 3:00 p.m. - Calaveras Community Band Fall Concert – The annual fall concert by the Calaveras Community Band will be presented Sunday, November 3 at 3 p.m. in the Dr. Elliot Smart Performing Arts Center at Bret Harte High School, 323 Main St., Angels Camp. The Second Suite for Military Band in F major by Gustav Holst and Rachmaninoff’s Italian Polka will be intermixed with the seasonal sounds of A Winter’s Carol, O Nata Lux by Guy Forbes, and Baby, It’s Cold Outside featuring a trumpet and euphonium duet. A bit of Dixieland jazz with Way Down Yonder in New Orleans will round out the program. The band, which traces its history to Gold Rush days, will be under the direction of Mic Harper. There is no admission charge but donations will be solicited to help the family of band member Rosendo Rojas who is battling a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer. Information: 728-9057.
