More Sierra Railway Stories
Dave Connery, featured speaker at the recent Lamplight dinner, will share more stories about the Sierra Railway and the Angels Branch at the 7 PM, Thursday, June 13, society meeting.
At the Lamplight dinner, Connery indicated additional stories about the railroad would be included in a future edition of the Chispa. He will relate some of those stories at the June meeting. '
Connery has served as a docent at Railtown 1897 in Jamestown for the past 21 years. He is a railroad historian who finds the Angels Branch one of the most intriguing he has encountered. In its day the short trip from Jamestown to Angels Camp was considered one of the most scenic railroad rides in the nation.
