All Day Our Sunday Edition with Local Features, Local Specials & More Every Sunday All Day Long!
Arnold, CA...Our goal is to bring back the feel of the old Sunday Paper. It was a day for features, profiles and most importantly the Rotogravure section with all the color ads that had kids begging mom & dad for the latest toys, Dad checking out the new hardware and automotive specials and Moms everywhere looking for the best for their families. So it was a day to let the hard news and crime stories wait till Monday if they could and focus on fun, family and of course Shopping. So join us for our Big, New, Sunday Edition where we will feature everything Fun, New, & most importantly On Sale at our local stores and businesses!!!

If you own or run a local business in Calaveras, Amador, Alpine & Tuolumne Counties give us a call at 209.768.3929 or email us at news@thepinetree.net for great Sunday Special ad rates. During the week ads and promotions compete with the news, on Sundays the ads and features are the news!!

02:00 PM Angels Camp Museum Lecture Series! Join us Sunday Feb 4 for a Water Update from Utica Water & Power
Angels Camp, CA...Learn about the water supply for Murphys, Vallecito, and Angels Camp. Utica’s 10-person staff is responsible for conveying up to 33,000-acre-feet of water from the North Fork Stanislaus River through a 27-mile-long conveyance system built during the Gold-Rush, consisting of wooden flumes, earthen/concrete ditches and five reservoirs. Utica also operates a 3.6 MW hydroelectric power plant in Murphys and 1.4 MW plant in Angels Camp. The water conveyed by Utica is provided to residential, commercial and agricultural customers in the Murphys, Douglas Flat, Vallecito and Angels Camp region.

Photo Credit Utica Water & Power: Joel Metzger and Flume 1. Flume 1 was witness to the fresh snowfall that covered much of the upper Highway 4 Corridor recently. This is the first flume in Utica's 27-mile-long system and sits right below Hunter Reservoir in Avery.

02:00 PM Oh, You Beautiful Doll Now Playing at the Metropolitan
San Andreas, CA..."Oh, You Beautiful Doll" is an immersive jukebox musical coming to Calaveras County in January 2024. It is the story of a very special doll named Bobbi who gets handed down through four generations of little girls. Over the decades Bobbi struggles to find her worth as newer and more exciting dolls arrive. Her best friend, Kent, also grapples to fit in and find his place in the world. Together they learn that beauty is truly within and it's what's on the inside that really makes us special.

"Oh, You Beautiful Doll" will play at the historic Metropolitan Theatre in San Andreas, CA from January 19 - February 11, 2024 on Fridays and Saturdays at 7 pm and Sundays at 2 pm. It is written and directed by Fourth Wall Entertainment's owner Cyndie Klorer, and stars Alara who will perform her original song, "What's Not to Like?" among many other well known historical rock and roll hits.

An ensemble of dolls will sing and dance throughout the entire venue as we travel with Bobbi from the 1950s to present. Life size replicas of well known doll houses from the 60s, 70s, and 80s will set the stage as Bobbi and the dolls strut their iconic fashion doll costumes.

Our guests are encouraged to dress up, too!
