The Lode Hotel in Angels Camp Gets 30 Days to Make Improvements or Else~By John Hamilton Updated with Video

Angels Camp, CA...The owner of the Lode Hotel in Angels Camp was given 30 days to shore up the front of the 1880's era hotel in Downtown Angels Camp. The first item of concern to the City is the balcony & deck area that is on the front side of the building. According to the City this area proposes an immediate problem as it is a safety concern for people walking in front of the building....

The City Council will be keeping the owner on a very short time-line of making improvements to the structure or they will have to take further action.

Building officials inspected the Lode Hotel earlier this month and recommended that it be condemned. In reality no one wants to see the historic building removed. Even Richard Wilmshurst one of the owners of an adjacent building said it would be tragic for the downtown area if the building had to be demolished. City officials even showed a photo mock up of the area with the building removed.

If the owner makes the structural improvements to the front of the building then he will be given another short time to submit plans to stabilize the building. We have over 3 hours of meeting video that is going up to the server now.

Video is Below...
