The Wheels are Turning at Bear Valley Mountain~ By John Hamilton
Bear Valley, CA...The 2008/2009 Ski Season is only the sixth ski resort to open in California. The new ski season at Bear Valley has began. The resort invested over 200k in new and upgraded snow making equipment during the off season which has enabled them to open this weekend. The man made stuff, plus all the fresh snow that mother nature is bringing should make it a White Christmas for our local ski industry...

The snow sports programs at Bear Valley also started up today. The Devo, Freeride & Race Teams were out bright and early to start their training. These are great programs if one of your youngsters has dreams of being the next Bode Miller.
Kuma and Panda are open today with plans to add Super Cup to the lifts open for tomorrow. It is also Wintersports History Night at the Bear Valley Lodge tonight. They will be honoring pivotal people in the history of Bear Valley and also showing extreme skiing films.
Yours truly(my wife likes to call me dork) took some video this morning of the some of the first skiers down the slopes and also some great footage of the Bear Valley Ski Patrol Dog Boarding the lift.
