Columbia, CA....Jeffrey Zahniser, a Columbia College adjunct culinary instructor, recently earned the certified executive chef (CEC) designation from the prestigious American Culinary Federation (ACF). An honors graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, Zahniser was formerly the executive chef at the City Hotel in Columbia, owned and operated a catering company in Los Angeles, and served as executive chef for Wyndham Hotels in Southern California.....
Along with teaching part-time for the college, he is currently the food service manager at the Rite of Passage Charter School’s Sierra Ridge Academy in San Andreas.
Established in 1929, the ACF is the largest professional chefs' organization in North America and is a part of the World Association of Chefs Societies. It is comprised of more than 18,000 members in 240 chapters across the country and is considered as the authority on cooking in America.
ACF is also the national accrediting commission for culinary and pastry education programs at post-secondary institutions and secondary programs.
