Fatal Vehicle vs Pedestrian Collision in Sonora

Sonora, CA...On December 07, 2023, at approximately 11:55 pm, a pedestrian was standing on the south shoulder of State Route 108, west of Sullivan Creek Road. At that same time, 41-year-old Courtney Johnson of Sonora was driving a 2012 Ford Expedition eastbound on State Route 108. As Ms. Johnson approached the pedestrian, he suddenly stepped into the roadway directly in front of her vehicle.

As a result, the front of Ms. Johnson’s vehicle struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian suffered major injuries, which he succumbed to those injuries at the scene. Ms. Johnson was wearing a seatbelt and did not sustain any injuries.

It is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs are a factor in this crash. The identity of the pedestrian is still unknown at this time.

I see that there are still some very immature folks commenting on these articles. I know 5-year-olds who act more mature than some of you. I say grow up!

                Dear John,
Old news and creepy fan boys. I think it's time to let this site go. For one your reporting is extremely delayed or none at all. The rest is advertising. You stink man, lay off the booze..

Come on, look at how many times printing a vehicle accident has helped you on here. I can tell you this, in all my years I've glanced on here and seen an accident, it's helped me at the least....well, never actually. But I know one thing, those ads on here, they.....well..... never saved me a penny either.

Tis the season we should be helping, not spreading hate

Ms Johnson, a terrible accident it was, and none of it was any fault of yours.
You'll have a lot of sleepless nights, it will lessen, but it takes time. Hoping you have family and friends to help you thru this difficult time.

This is how our own politicians spread their love during what should be the Season of Joy

On Wednesday, a House resolution "strongly condemning and denouncing the drastic rise of antisemitism in the United States and around the world" passed in a 311-14 vote with overwhelming Republican support, while 92 Democrats voted present, 13 voted no and 13 did not vote.
What happened to the Democratic Party? Their hypocrisy these last 6 - 7 years? Going after their rival party. Going after Christians. Going after the Jewish. Going after their political rivals. Going after our Right to free speech. Going after our Constitution. Using the IRS, DOJ, the FBI to go after those who only disagree with them. Going after anyone who spoke against the COVID vaccine. Going after our military personnel who were healthy and said no vaccine. Going after scientist, health officials, doctors, nurses who said healthy adults did not need the vaccines. The majority of Democrat politicians who were caught breaking their own demands of COVID protocols on their pissants who voted for them.
I don't trust any politician, any party, but the idiot we have in office now, as many voters today say about the 2024 election, Anybody But Biden. Even Hillary Even Trump, but not this dip *bleep* that has shown the world the stupidity of the American voters electing the oldest and mentally incapacitated president in history.

Biden has done as good a job as can be expected of any president who inherits a broken pandemic economy and the violent world we've seen the last three years.
We're lucky to have a man with his experience and competence in the White House.

You whiners have no idea what tough times are. This is nothing compared to the social unrest of the 50s and 60s or the economy/inflation of the 70s and 80s.

You'll look back at the Biden era in the future as a time when you actually received your Social Security, there was a job for everyone, and inflation under 4% with nostalgia; guarantee it.
