CHP San Andreas will Be Conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint Tonight
San Andreas, CA...On Wednesday, September 20, 2023, the California Highway Patrol San Andreas office will be conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint. The purpose of the checkpoint is to detect and deter drivers impaired by alcohol and/or drugs.

The checkpoint will be staffed by officers of the California Highway Patrol that are trained in the detection of alcohol and/or drug impaired drivers. The officers will also be equipped with handheld breath testing devices which provide an accurate measure of blood alcohol concentration of those suspected of driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Traffic volume permitting, all vehicles, regardless of type, will be checked and drivers who are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs can be expected to be arrested and booked into the county jail.
The checkpoint will be operated in the San Andreas area from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM.
Safety, Service, and Security California Highway Patrol
Event occurs on 09/20/2023 from 05:00 PM to 09:00 PM.

Catching the serious drinkers.
Or to piss of the locals.
How about a Friday, Sat, or Sunday. Catch the wine drinkers.

First off, who in the hell decided Wednesday was a good idea? Secondly, it's advertised. A Friday night would make sense or Saturday. And why San Andreas? Prior to the 4 way stop off 12 in Valley Springs would make sense. That's our gateway to all the lakes, campgrounds ect.
This is some horrible leadership and planning.

How about any day at either end of Murphys Grade Road?
The shoulders of some sections of that road are practically paved with empty hard liquor bottles.

Typical California clowns at work!! All valid comments above. CHP is right in line with the total BS that runs this state! How about probable cause to stop any vehicle? Oops there is no probable cause, which equates to not having to stop or answer any of their questions.
