As a progressive, I welcome debate of issues this is healthy for a community.
In debating issues, facts established facts are cited, to bolster positions.
The recent avalanche of "alternative views, facts" are just that, they are not provable facts or truth, they are positions based on dubious sources, many times easily debunked. They amount to propaganda, falsehoods, nothing less.
It is troubling to me, now 71 Yrs, that America has fallen in to the cesspool of what I grew up hearing from the USSR, and China, DPRK.
Word salads of lies, with no facts supporting their rhetoric.
As a society, we advanced thru science, mathematics, free thought and a vote for all.
Now these cornerstones of a free society are attacked by those who choose misinformation , to mainly buy these cornerstones, for their economic gain and power.
I do not wish ill to anyone, I wish all can aim to increase consciousness thru the education , enlightenment by debate using science, facts, established truth, and repel those who can buy their way in to reverse the advances of our community.

Good example, the facts around the world show vaccines worked with very few complications, masks also do work.
The same "freedom" argument" was used for smoking and car seat belts.
Most of us wish to have factual information proven by data ; smoking causes much damage to the smoker, and others around them;2nd, 3rd hand smoke.
Seat belts also have saved many lives , a proven fact.

It's hard to think he is serious about this, probably 40-50% of comments would be taken down. Undoubtedly, that would impact Hamilton's revenues.
Possibly, the site has matured to the point where Hamilton feels he can do that and whether the risk.
The difficult part would be finding intelligent, thinking people on the right who would eloquently defend the indefensible.

There are many who do welcome a lively debate citing peer review facts.
Citing data from reputable sources established science, studies which is how debates should be.

I'm a local business owner, serving about 1/2 locals and 1/2 the tourists. I've thought about advertising on this site for 2 years now. But I can't risk my ad showing up against all this hatred, vulgarity and ignorance.

In some ways, however, it IS illustrative of the ACTUAL thought processes and core opinions of a small minority of Pinetree readers. Whenever I occasionally think that nobody could possibly espouse such racism, homophobia, sexism, “flatlander-ism”, etc…...all I gotta do is open up the comments section of this blog, and there it is, for all to see. Hiding millions from the IRS, trying and finally failing to not paying any child support or medical bills of your own kids. This is the kind of dad Joe is to teach his kids that this is acceptable behavior to have and how Joe sees it's a great family that he's raised, the Biden Family values. And the democrats up here seem to think he's a great President.

Then-Vice President Joe Biden participated in phone calls with son Hunter's overseas business partners, according to a whistleblower expected to testify before Congress this week.
Devon Archer, Hunter Biden's former best friend, is scheduled to testify before the House Oversight Committee, the New York Post reported.
"We are looking forward very much to hearing from Devon Archer about all the times he has witnessed Joe Biden meeting with Hunter Biden's overseas business partners when he was vice president, including on speakerphone," Committee Chair Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., said, the Post reported.
Joe Biden repeatedly has said he knew nothing about Hunter's overseas business dealings.
Archer, 48, is expected to tell the House panel that he witnessed Hunter Biden dialing in his father, on speakerphone, into meetings and introducing him to foreign business partners or prospective investors.
One December, 2015, call involved Ukrainian energy company Burisma owner Mykola Zlochevsky, who urgently asked to speak with Hunter before being put on the phone with Joe Biden.
Archer is expected to testify that Joe Biden greeted Zlochevsky and senior Burisma executive Vadym Pozharskyi but spoke only in vague pleasantries during the short call, the Post reported.
On the call, Hunter said the Burisma leaders "need our support," according to Archer.
Burisma was paying Hunter $83,000 a month as a director.
Lawmakers are expected to probe the reasons for Zlochevsky requesting the urgent phone call with Joe Biden, the Post reported.
At the time of the call, Ukrainian prosecutor general Viktor Shokin was investigating Burisma for corruption. By Feb. 2, 2016, Shokin would seize houses, land, and a Rolls Royce belonging to Zlochevsky, who was living in exile in Dubai.
However, Shokin was fired a month later after Joe Biden, the Obama administration's point man for Ukraine, threatened to withhold $1 billion in U.S. aid to Ukraine.
Archer is expected to testify about other speakerphone meetings — as many as two dozen — including a dinner at a restaurant in Paris where Hunter put his father on speaker to impress prospective investors.
The whistleblower also is expected to testify about two dinners Hunter organized for his VP father to meet business partners from Ukraine, Russia, and Kazakhstan, the Post reported.
Archer is facing jail for his role in a $60 million bond fraud.
A close associate of Archer said the whistleblower is testifying because he believes it is his "civic duty."
Another former Hunter Biden partner, Tony Bobulinski, remembers Hunter offering to get his father on the phone during a meeting by the Chateau Marmont pool in Los Angeles.
"I am also aware of other Biden family business associates confirming that Joe would take phone calls from Hunter in the middle of business meetings and would weigh in via speakerphone," Bobulinski says, the Post reported.

SUPERSEDING INDICTMENT
Special Counsel Jack Smith has issued SUPERSEDING indictments for Trump and Nauta in the documents case, and has added Carlos DeOliveira as a criminal defendant. So let's take a look at whats new.
Starting on page 27 of the superseding indictment, prosecutors spell out the new plot to delete security camera footage. This conspiracy included Trump, Nauta, and DeOliveira. Per the indictment (link to the full document below), the day after DoJ subpoenaed the Trump Org for the security camera footage, Trump called DeOliveira and they spoke for 24 minutes.
Keep in mind, DeOliveira is the guy who helped Nauta move boxes. He's represented by an attorney paid for by the Trump Save America PAC. He's the guy who called the Mar a Lago IT guy and asked questions about how long security footage was kept. And he's the guy that reportedly drained the pool into the server room where the surveillance footage was stored.
The next day, Trump asked Nauta to return to Mar a Lago, and when he got there, Nauta told DeOliveira that trump wanted him to talk to the IT guy.
Two days after that, DeOliveira went to see the IT guy and told him trump wanted him to DELETE the security footage.
Now, the indictment does NOT address any attempts to delete or destroy the footage, just the attempt (which is a crime). So all three have been charged with obstruction of justice for that attempt. DeOliveira has also been charged with lying to the FBI about moving boxes with Carlos.
It's also mentioned in the indictment that DeOliveira was told if he were loyal, trump would pay for his lawyer.
ADDITIONALLY: Trump has been hit with a superseding charge of retaining that Iran document he waved around during that audio recording we heard. That's count 32, and it shows that Jack Smith NOW HAS that document. He has not been charged with dissemination.
