Joe Cocker & Steve Miller Was "Beautiful" and "Flying Like An Eagle" ~ By John Hamilton
Murphys, CA...The Beautiful Ironstone Amphitheater was filled to the brim on Sunday Night. Joe Cocker put on a wonderful show to start things off! A person tends to forget just how many great songs he has recorded over the year. He sang all of the Classics including "You Are So Beautiful To Me", "Up Where We Belong" and many, many more. You could tell that Joe puts everything he has into a show. With his classic and unmistakable voice ringing out over the vineyards it was "Beautiful" indeed....

Joe Cocker and The Steve Miller Band have been touring together all Summer. They visited 41 cities overall, with Murphys being their 41st and last for the summer tour.
Then The Steve Miller Band took the stage....To Sum it up when we spoke with one volunteer yesterday who has been attending every show he said "It a show I would have paid to see!" High praise form a person who has seen them all this year.
My feelings were the same. This was a great, well played, happy and upbeat rock n' roll show. Their set included all their classics like "Fly like An Eagle", "Jet Airliner" and many, many more.
The last time I had the pleasure to see Steve Miller was about 15 years ago at the Concord Pavilion. Steve is now a self confessed 64 years old and in some ways this concert was even better than the great show from a decade and a half ago. The music and the band have aged very well.
One great addition this time around was the addition of Blues man Sonny Charles. Sonny and the songs his presence has allowed the band to tackle have added additional depth, energy and stage presence to the show.
The band also played some great new music. Steve said the band recorded 41 songs for this 41 show tour. The songs will be available from the band's website in I believe October.
All in all there were thousands of happy and very satisfied customers at The Ironstone Amphitheater Sunday Night.
