Consumer Price Index Holds Steady at 8.5% Inflation Rate for July

Washington, DC...The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) was unchanged in July on a seasonally adjusted basis after rising 1.3 percent in June, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 8.5 percent before seasonal adjustment.

The gasoline index fell 7.7 percent in July and offset increases in the food and shelter indexes, resulting in the all items index being unchanged over the month. The energy index fell 4.6 percent over the month as the indexes for gasoline and natural gas declined, but the index for electricity increased.

The food index continued to rise, increasing 1.1 percent over the month as the food at home index rose 1.3 percent. The index for all items less food and energy rose 0.3 percent in July, a smaller increase than in April, May, or June. The indexes for shelter, medical care, motor vehicle insurance, household furnishings and operations, new vehicles, and recreation were among those that increased over the month. There were some indexes that declined in July, including those for airline fares, used cars and trucks, communication, and apparel.

The all items index increased 8.5 percent for the 12 months ending July, a smaller figure than the 9.1-percent increase for the period ending June. The all items less food and energy index rose 5.9 percent over the last 12 months. The energy index increased 32.9 percent for the 12 months ending July, a smaller increase than the 41.6-percent increase for the period ending June. The food index increased 10.9 percent over the last year, the largest 12-month increase since the period ending May 1979.

Problem is that Joe has tried to do something. If he would have just done nothing and left Trump's policies in place he could have saved us all a lot of pain

Oh yeah what a great job Joe has done said an ignorant Dolt above^^^

Meanwhile people who are not easily manipulated Imbeciles remember when we had a Strong President who put America and her people first. Not just the Republican Party, but all Americans, no matter their Political party,no matter their sex, noatter the color of their skin, unlike this president.
    "

Do you remember when we were a Sovereign Nation, our Southern Border was under control, gas prices were ridiculously low compared to now, Mass Shootings we're 400 % less then today, violent crime, rapes, Shootings we're way below today's numbers, there was no inflation, our Allies respected us, our Adversaries feared us, no supply chain crisis, baby food was available, remember when Trump created Operation Warp Speed and the entire left said impossible it would take 5 years, remember when there were only 400,000 dead Americans and under Biden it's over ONE MILLION Americans DEAD because he and his VP bad mouthed the Three Vaccines Trump gave him? Remember when Roe Vs Wade was still in place under trump? Remember when New York prosecuted criminals with guns, then they stopped prosecuting and then the Supreme Court overturned New York's unconstitutional gun laws so law abiding citizens can apply for a gun permit to protect themselves for the skyrocketing violent crime under this Socialist Dictatorship.Remember when there was Peace in the Middle East, other countries entering into peace agreements with Israel, Russia stayed inside their own border, the military, law enforcement respected the POTUS, Remember when teachers taught 5 year old students reading writing and arithmetic instead of questioning their sex, remember when politicians worked for American citizens instead of making us last.
Remember when the Democrats all said President Trump was unhinged and would start a war a lunatic with his finger on the Nuclear button? Now we have Pelosi trying to start a war with China to look heroic. Remember when the Treasury Department had RED FLAG ALERTS, after 9/11 happened to notify all in Congress of possible terrorist, Money Laundering or at the Least laws being broken? Biden stopped those Alerts because BIDEN'S SON and BIDEN'S BROTHER JIM HAVE SET OFF OVER 150 RED FLAG ALERTS BETWEEN THEM AND BIDEN DOESNT WANT ANYONE TO SEE THOSE NATIONAL SECURITY ALERTS ON HIS FAMILY'S CORRUPTION. All of that was wayyyy back in time (like 18 months ago) before President DEMENTIA and Vice President WHORE took over. Do you remember wayyyy back in the beginning of January 2022 before Biden lost over EIGHT TRILLION DOLLARS IN OUR STOCK MARKET and millions of people had to put off their retirement and forcing millions of our Elders to try to go back to work part time so they could eat?
See what happens when you elect a weak, uncaring Dictator who doesn't give a damn about you, our Freedom, our Constitution, our Bill of Rights. Today might be the best day of your life because under this Disastrous Dictatorship tomorrow might bring even more Chaos.
PS At Least For The Time Being Republicans stopped Biden's Ministry Of Truth THE EXACT SAME THING THAT ADOLPH HITLER AND JOSEPH STALIN HAD WHEN THEY FIRST TOOK AWAY FREE SPEECH AND THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS.

Really? You're happy and feeling good that under Biden in 12 months energy cost went up almost 30 percent?
You're happy and praising Joe for a great job in food costing 10 percent more than 12 months ago?
You're feeling great that everything cost 10 percent more and Biden is doing fantastic at his job?
Those numbers are for 12 months, now think how low they were under Trump when inflation was zilch.
We must have the nation's dumbest dumbacrats here in our country. There's no other excuse I can think of for the stupidity of that poster.
That has to be the dumbest, one of the most ignorant comments on here in ages thinking those inflation numbers are from someone doing a good job.
Top it off a president just proved and divided this country like no other when he Politicized our Justice dept.

PS FBI officials asked for Trump's security camera to be shut off. Now it's been said they were not turned off, the FBI is demanding all footage. FBI also said no witnesses, not even Trump's lawyers to watch them as they ransacked the home even his wife's dressers.

Anyone else noticing the high flows in our rivers and streams right now. The hours of high water flows in the Mokelumne for this time of year are unprecedented. I thought the Valley and Southern California had to cut back usage? Must be all the new building they have done.

What will happen to our water with empty reservoirs if rain and snow decrease this winter?

Maybe the non stop planting of almond trees . If you know California is in a drought . Let’s cut back on corporate profits . And help all of California get through this. . Love almond’s . But the people need water for other important uses . Like bathing , cooking , flushing the toilet , ect .

Fuk lawns, biggest waste of water, besides almonds, going. Legislate tearing out all lawns. Humongous waste of a precious resource. You want something green out in front of your house? Astroturf. Eliminate lawns, sod, etc.
