“Sir Leaps-A-Lot” Leaps to Victory in 46th Annual Capitol Frog Jump

Sacramento, CA...Assemblyman Frank Bigelow and Senator Andreas Borgeas hosted the 46th Annual Calaveras County Frog Jump competition at the Capitol’s South Lawn this afternoon. “This is one of my favorite events,” notes Assemblyman Bigelow, “We were glad to bring a little fun back to the Capitol after a couple of years off due to the pandemic. And we had a great turn out!”

Legislators and staff from both sides of the aisle made an appearance to see who could convince their frog to jump the farthest. Assemblyman Bigelow’s frog “Frogga The Hutt” jumped a whopping 4 feet 4 inches! Other notable jumps include Senator Borgeas’ office whose frog “Sir Leaps-A-Lot” jumped an incredible 12 feet and 6 inches - winning longest jump. Assemblyman Gabriel’s office claimed shortest jump with their frog, “Dana” at 2 feet and 9 inches.

Our friend Joe Michaels of KFBK won the Media Jump for the seventh time with his frog “Christopher Ribbit” who made a jump of 10 feet and six inches. Joe is dedicating this win in memory of the late Bill Proctor, “We have a lot of fun with the Capitol event, but Bill's the real champion!" Bill won the big-time competition in Calaveras County seven times!

Assemblyman Bigelow still contends everyone is a winner at heart. “Everyone who showed up today was able to experience a small part of what makes Calaveras County and its Frog Jumping Jubilee so great.”

Be sure to check out the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee which will take place at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds starting May 19th through May 22nd.

Lifelong rancher Frank Bigelow proudly represents the 5th Assembly District, which encompasses Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Madera, Mariposa, Mono, Placer, and Tuolumne counties and includes Lake Tahoe and Yosemite National Park.

I can't decide on the name of my frog this year. Should I name it Donald Kisses Putin's Ass-A-Lot, or Trump Sucks Putin's Dick-A-Lot?
It eats a lot of food, pushes the other frogs around, hangs out on the golf course, and thinks it can win. I'm sure it will be a loser.

Many young people learn more about personal responsibility and finance raising a fair animal. From youth to seniors, many of us also enjoy sharing our garden plants, photos, art, preserves, baked goods and more. And then there is the magic of having family and grandchildren visit from elsewhere to enjoy it. I feel sorry for you if this is not your experience. Much may be changing in Calaveras, but the fair is something that reminds us of our ag roots along with keeping our county unique.

Tourism and visitors bring over $200 million a year to our local economy. If you are against visitors you must not like food, local businesses, local jobs or a roof over your head!

Tourists and the people bring trash and dimwits to the area. They all bring grand dads money and political views unfortunately-that don’t belong and most people don’t want. We want to live in quiet peace. We will have made it long before and after you destroyed this place. Take that 200 million turn it sideways and shove it.

Tourism brings 200 Million a year. What a load of 💩! The only thing the Flatlanders bring is crime, litter, drugs, and drama! These last couple of years when the fair was cancelled was the absolute best! It was nice seeing the fairgrounds NOT destroyed with litter and all the crime rates going up. Fuk Flatlanders Fuk the Fair! #CancelTheFair

Hmm...let's see would any businesses be left in Murphys without tourists? Ironstone would be gone, all of it. Is that what you want?

Never wanted it to begin with. Ruined Murphys. And Stevenot ruined the roots of what Calaveras was. Greed ruined this county and on to this country.

If you actually believe the BS that the money the tourists bring helps the economy then you are stupider then you look. All the stupid retarded flatlanders and their spoiled rotten rude, disrespectful blobs of humanity they call children bring is crime, litter, drama, and drugs. We have gotten by just fine without them in the past and we can do it again.

STAY IN THE BAY FLATLANDERS! NOT WELCOME OR WANTED HERE!

Money that tourists bring in raises all prices where they frequent. While the "they can afford it" attitude persists, it certainly raises prices for locals, particularly at gas stations.

          I love no parking signs.

In fact, the county needs to require all AirBnB rentals on single family zoned parcels provide 2 addition off street parking places for each room rental. Time to get those people parking on the property they're staying at, not on other people's property or on a street that has a snow plow coming thru at 2am.
