Hey Good People!! Bear Valley Breaks All Time December Snow Record with 161 Inches So Far!!

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! We broke our all time December record for snowfall on Dec 29th at 8am with the new record being 161″. Mattly’s weather forecast for Thursday. An inside slider is poised over the Great Basin this morning and could enhance the ability to bring lite scattered snowfall to the area today. With a high of 25F and a SSE wind in the upper teens and gusting into the 20’s it looks to be a stellar day of riding out on the hill. Saturday and Sunday will be the same with continuing cold temps as the influence of the cold AK air finishes off with a warmer storm front expected to arrive Monday.

The ensembles this morning of the deterministic runs shows a good chance of 1-3′ of new snow with that system next week but I see it coming in on the lower end at this time but things can change over the next 24hrs so I’ll speak to more of that with Fridays morning post. Snow levels are expected to rise to the 6000′ range once the system arrives and of concern is the warmer value of the system laying down on top of lite density cold snow and the winds potentially up into the 60mph range for our area as surface gradients look to tighten up. So the question at this point is…..will an AR affect the west coast later next week before we ridge up? Stay tuned.

Many laughed at my 400″ season prediction 3 months ago…..let’s hope it still rings true for the season!
Pure Mtn Fun is our ethos so come on up and check us out.

We look forward to skiing and riding with all ya’ll very soon.

Cheers,
Mattly
