Hey All You Arnold Rim Trail Aficionados!

Hi Arnold Rim Trail Aficionados....A quick reminder to those who enjoy spending an extended morning in the glorious outdoors working with like minded folks on establishing the Arnold Rim Trail. Bring the whole family, kids, parents, and grandparents. There's something for everyone to do. Following is a repeat of the email that was sent earlier this week that provides all the details....

"This Saturday, July 19th, will be another volunteer trail work day. Please meet at the US Forest Service Headquarters in Hathaway Pines promptly at 8:30 am. After a brief orientation at the Headquarters Office, Lonnie Allison, the Trail Coordinator for the Forest Service, will lead the group in a vehicle caravan to the trail. Work generally finishes around 1 or 2 pm although those who need to leave earlier are still welcomed and encouraged to participate. Please wear cool clothes and bring work gloves, a snack lunch, sun screen, a water bottle, and your favorite garden tool(s) if you have one (them). You may also bring your own hard hat if you wish, otherwise Lonnie will provide one for you along with plenty of trail tools. This will be our third or fourth work day; those have participated in the past have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Don't worry if you are concerned you may not be able to do heavy work, as there is something that needs to be done by folks at all levels of physical readiness. It is a fun, collegial day of trail building and restoration. We do not publish ahead of time where we will be working because often it is behind locked gates on Forest Service land. Therefore you need to be present at 8:30 am to caravan to the site. If you need to leave before 1 or 2 pm, arrangements will be made for you to exit with your vehicle."

I spoke with Lonnie this morning and he is very excited about the portion of the trail that he has in mind to work on this Saturday. He looks forward to seeing you this Saturday morning. Please call him at 795-1381 extension 309 if you have questions. Attached are a couple of pictures from a previous trail day.

Warm regards,
Steve Lauterbach
