Calaveras County Moves to the Orange Tier as COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts Continue

San Andreas, CA...Calaveras County Moves to the Orange Tier as COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts Continue.  Today, Calaveras County was moved to the orange tier (moderate risk level). This means that some businesses and activities can open with modifications. Restrictions on businesses that were already opened have lessened in many instances. As the county opens up further, Calaveras Public Health urges caution and encourages people to take the necessary steps to prevent being exposed to the virus and get vaccinated to help the county continue to open further.

To learn more about how this change in tiers impacts businesses and activities in Calaveras County please view the state’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy to find specific business information and the county’s latest status.

Calaveras County has made significant progress against COVID-19. Calaveras Public Health has administered nearly 28,000 vaccines. Calaveras Public Health continues to urge common sense health measures, including wearing masks in public, getting tested for COVID-19, and getting vaccinated against COVID-19.

Calaveras Public Health is working to ensure that residents and workers have increased access to vaccines. COVID-19 vaccination is now open to those 16 and older who live or work in Calaveras County. Appointments can be made on the My Turn website. Walk-ins will be accepted based on available vaccine.

People who don't have an email address or mobile phone should call the CA COVID-19 Hotline at 1-833-422-4255 (M-F 8AM-8PM, Sa-Su 8AM-5PM) for assistance. Due to technical issues, those who live in the 95223 area (Arnold) should enter 95222 as their zip code when searching for a location near you.

In order to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, you must meet the following criteria:
 Must meet vaccine age requirements:
o Pfizer: 16 and older
o Moderna: 18 and older
 Must have a photo ID
 Must not currently have COVID-19, or been exposed to COVID-19 within the last 14 days.
 Must not have received any other vaccine, such as the flu shot, in the last 14 days.

To receive information and resources related to COVID-19 visit the Calaveras County COVID-19 website.
