FIRE UPDATES...There Are Currently 7 Active Fires in Dorrington / Big Trees Area Primary Focus.... No Road Closures at this time....Multiple Lightning Related Fires in Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties with Continuing Updates Enclosed....Last Update 9:50pm

San Andreas, CA...We just spoke with Barbara at CAL Fire and it has been a busy afternoon so far. They are working 7 fires at this time. The largest is 75-100 acres near the Hetch Hetchy Power Plant. This one is in a fairly isolated area and is burning primarily grass. Fire crews seem to have the upper hand. There are a couple that are about a 10th of an acre or so that they need to observe. There are a couple of small fires in the Dorrington / Big Trees Village area. One in the Boards Crossing and another is in the Sierra Parkway Area. These are the ones they are most concerned about. These fires are not currently threatening any structures but they have to potential to do so. From the sound of Scanner Chatter they are engaging everything fast and hard right now. We will post rolling updates every 1/2 hour. We have enabled open comments on this post if anyone wants to post on the ground observations. 6:50pm Update....We just spoke with Barbara at CAL-Fire and No Structures are being threatened and there are No Road closures at this time. Continuing Updates Enclosed...

Fire Crews are still mostly concerned with the fires Behind Big Trees Village. They will have additional information for us in about an hour. A bit on earlier fires. The Candy Rock Fire is contained and is being handled by the USFS. We will post fire details as we get them from them. The earlier Structure Fire near Baseline has been contained and is over. The Hetch Hetchy Fire should be near containment at 75-100 acres.

As of 8:20pm, according to Lisa Williams they have 10 engines and 4 hand crews working in the Dorrington area. It appears that there are still multiple areas of ignition. Air assets are or will be released shortly due to approaching sunset. We will update you again in an hour or so.

As of 9:45pm there are 7 active fires in the Dorrington/Big Trees area that emergency personnel are now combining into one incident. There may be a structure threatened according to Lisa Williams at CAL Fire. The location may be in the Airola Creek area. Lisa is calling us back with exact location.

As of 10:47pm we spoke with CAL Fire Representative Command Center. He is working to map all 7 incidents currently. We will update you when we have more information. It sounds as though the threat to structures has lessened.
