Fatal Motorcycle Crash Took The Life of 40 Year Old Martin Flores

Sonora, CA...The sad family notifications have been made and the Sonora CHP Office has released the name of the deceased in the fatal motorcycle crash on Saturday. On March 13, 2021 at approximately 5:00pm, a 40-year-old Martin Flores from Modesto was riding his 2006 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on Bonds Flat Road, east of Blue Oaks Road at an unknown rate of speed. As the rider negotiated a left curve in the roadway, he allowed his motorcycle to travel onto the south shoulder where both the rider and the motorcycle stuck a guardrail.

After the impact, the motorcycle landed within the eastbound lane of Bonds Flat Road and the rider came to rest on a private roadway just south of Bonds Flat Road.

A Fish and Wildlife Warden was traveling through the area of the crash and began to provide medical aid to the rider. Unfortunately, the rider succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

It was determined he was wearing a motorcycle helmet at the time of the crash and alcohol may have been a factor.

From all of us at ThePineTree.net our prayers are with those affected. Life can end for any of us at anytime. The saddest part of our job is to report incidents such as this one.

Our scenic two lane roads are perfect for weekend drives that they are also unforgiving. We may not have more collisions in the foothills and mountains but when we do the incidents of serious injuries and deaths are elevated.

Head on collisions, vehicles vs trees and more can end lives in an instant. We all know this but as we enter into spring and summer it bears repeating.

If you are visiting our area remember our area is beautiful but take it slow on roads you are unfamiliar with.
