CHP Wants You to "Arrive Alive"...CHP Tuolunmne County Receives Grant to Enhance Highway Safety. (Updated with Higher Res Video)
Jamestown, CA....Tuolumne County CHP Commander Mike Ayala led a press conference this morning in Jamestown on a Federal Grant they received. CHP of Tuolumne County was a recipient of a federal grant targeted at areas with high death rate per mile. The highway 12 corridor received a similar grant. This grant will pay for 1,000 officer hours that can be targeted at enforcement specifically. Also included are funds for 200 Sergeant hours and additional funds for public service announcements and outreach. The program officially started on June 1st and will run for one calender year. Tuolumne County has had a significantly higher death rate than either Mariposa or Calaveras Counties.
