It’s Tuesday before Thanksgiving so you should know that if the minimum wage had increased at the rate of productivity since 1960, it would be $22.50. Instead, it’s $7.25.
That's $15.25 per hour that's disappeared from the pockets of low income workers the past 60 years...
Not doubting your math, but wouldn't a linear relationship undermine productivity gains? I'd rather have robots assembling my iPhone than people... and Pushbutton phones rather than asking the operator for Maybelle 2232. People need to escape the pox of minimum wage jobs through education these days... It's a different world.

I refuse to listen to another word Dr. Dumb has to say, after I heard him speak in another episode here. He was asked about peoples health in the county because of the wildfires all around. He stated that the smoke was no problem for the health of citizens here. It was easily found elsewhere at the time that the air was unhealthy and people should be staying inside. The caustic smoke was easily seen and the smell was very irritating. Many were sick from it in the Summer.
This is the doctor running the Mark Twain Hospital. The leadership is exactly what is wrong with the hospital.
Then why do the majority of people still travel elsewhere when in need of hospital services? You obviously must work there or have something to do with Dignity Health.
We're fortunate to have a county hospital but yes, if you're truly ill it's just a place to stabilize and send you on to a real teaching hospital with up to date therapy and equipment. The bigger issue is that many locally don't go to a doctor unless they're sick or injured and do not understand preventative health.
