Upper Hwy 4 Man is Fourteenth Case of COVID-19 in Calaveras County

San Andreas, CA...On Sunday May 24, 2020, Calaveras Public Health confirmed an additional case of COVID-19 in Calaveras County. This case is an adult male who resides along the Upper Highway 4 Corridor. The individual was not showing symptoms at the time of testing. “As people observe Memorial Day weekend this serves as a reminder that coronavirus doesn’t take weekends off,” said Dr. Dean Kelaita, Calaveras County Health Officer. “We urge people to take preventive actions to lower their risk of getting COVID-19 as we enjoy recently opened areas of Calaveras County.”

Calaveras Public Health staff will continue to investigate this new case to determine any possible persons who may have had close personal contact with the positive individual. Close contacts will be assessed and monitored for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 illness.

There is currently no vaccine to prevent COVID-19. The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to the virus. Calaveras Public Health urges the public to:
 Stay at least 6 feet away from others
 Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
 Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
 Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissues, or your elbow (not your hands)
 Wear a cloth face covering when you are around people not in your household

“Everyone should continue to do their part to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the county. Let’s avoid undoing everything we have built to protect the health of our community,” said Dr. Kelaita.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases for Calaveras County is now fourteen.
Of those confirmed cases, thirteen cases have since recovered. To date, there have
been no reported deaths to COVID-19.

COVID-19 information and resources can be found on the Calaveras County COVID-19
website at https://covid19.calaverasgov.us/.

Does it really matter? Hopefully that person is under quarantine. How did he get it in the first place? Most likely too close to people, not washing his hands, unprotected sex.

This is great. Someone not showing symptoms, and probably not wearing a mask when they're out grocery shopping. Breathing, talking, and blowing virus on the fruits and vegetables.

Like this gentleman, you may not know you have this, while you actively spread it. Please wear your mask in public. Show some respect for the other human beings around you.

I am under isolation quarantine actually as my wife and child both tested negative. I was wearing a mask in public even before testing positive. As for how I got it in the first place, I have no idea , however if I were to venture a guess I would say that most likely I contracted it from using the bank card machine in various stores without gloves on and not using hand sanitizer immediately afterwards. I continue to have absolutely no symptoms.

I was tested without having any symptoms because I was going in for a minor surgery and coronavirus testing is now a standard part of pre-op.

More than 500 doctors have added their names to a letter to President Trump urging him to end the lockdown, warning that it will cause more death than the coronavirus itself.

In the letter, sent last week, doctors described the lockdown as a “mass casualty incident”.

“We are alarmed at what appears to be the lack of consideration for the future health of our patients. The downstream health effects of deteriorating a level are being massively under-estimated and under-reported. This is an order of magnitude error,” it states.

Written by Simone Gold, a California emergency medical specialist, and further signed by hundreds of doctors, the letter adds “The millions of casualties of a continued shutdown will be hiding in plain sight, but they will be called alcoholism, homelessness, suicide, heart attack, stroke, or kidney failure.”

“In youths it will be called financial instability, unemployment, despair, drug addiction, unplanned pregnancies, poverty, and abuse,” the letter further urges.

It notes that “Suicide hotline phone calls have increased 600%,” while sales of alcohol have increased 300% to 600%.

“Because the harm is diffuse, there are those that hold it does not exist. We, the undersigned, know otherwise,” the letter concludes.

While globalists have urged that lockdowns need to continue, medical and economic experts across the board in multiple countries are warning that the loss of life will be much greater than that caused directly by the virus itself, if lockdowns are not scrapped.

A leaked study from inside the German Ministry of the Interior has found that the impact of the country’s lockdown could end up killing more people than the coronavirus due to victims of other serious illnesses not receiving treatment.

A Guardian analysis has found that there have been thousands of excess deaths of people at home in the UK due to the lockdown.

Professor Richard Sullivan also warned that there will be more excess cancer deaths in the UK than total coronavirus deaths due to people’s access to screenings and treatment being restricted as a result of the lockdown. Physicians in the US are issuing the same warnings over cancer screening.

Sullivan’s comments were echoed by Peter Nilsson, a professor of internal medicine and epidemiology at Lund University, who said, “It’s so important to understand that the deaths of COVID-19 will be far less than the deaths caused by societal lockdown when the economy is ruined.”

In addition, new figures from the UK’s Office of National Statistics show that the number of deaths from flu and pneumonia is three times higher than the total number of coronavirus deaths this year.

A data analyst consortium in South Africa asserts that the economic consequences of the country’s lockdown will lead to 29 times more people dying than the coronavirus itself.

Experts have also warned that there will be 1.4 million deaths from untreated TB infections due to the lockdown.

Doctors at a hospital in California say they have recorded more deaths from suicide than coronavirus, with a year’s worth of suicides and suicide attempts being recorded in a 4 week period.

“Doctors at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek say they have seen more deaths by suicide during this quarantine period than deaths from the COVID-19 virus,” reports ABC 7.

Dr. Mike deBoisblanc, the head of trauma at the hospital, said that he’d never seen suicide at this rate and that the numbers were “unprecedented.” He now says its time to fully end the lockdown.

“I think, originally, this (the shelter-in-place order) was put in place to flatten the curve and to make sure hospitals have the resources to take care of COVID patients. We have the current resources to do that and our other community health is suffering,” said Dr. deBoisblanc.

A veteran nurse who has been at the hospital for 33 years also sounded the alarm bell.

“What I have seen recently, I have never seen before,” said Kacey Hansen. “I have never seen so much intentional injury.”

However, the hospital itself gave a statement saying that it was still in full support of the Shelter-in-Place order.

The suicides emphasize the potential scale of the untold impact the lockdown has had on mental health as people are further atomized and ostracized from friends and family.

So in addition to the 100,000 directly killed by the disease we can add the suicides, alcohol and drug deaths to Trump's irresponsible handling of this crisis.

Trump has certainly brought death like we've never seen before.

Despite his denial, Trump is totally responsible for his poor decisions and the magnitude of deaths and economic destruction.

As I rolled up a couple was shaking their heads looking at it, and as I was leaving a younger guy was laughing at it and we had a short conversation about what a tool the truck's owner is.

Speaking of the virus and not keeping the community safe - we should all boycott the Murphys Suites hotel. The owner has chosen to open up and weekend guests were not essential workers but visitors from elsewhere. Totally ignoring the county's public health guidelines and sacrificing safety for greed.

I did for years. One of the reasons I quit contracting. One gal in the Building Dept that stood (not worked) behind the counter was the quintessential government employee: Fat, ugly, lazy, smelly, combative and stupid.

Sign next to the counter reads "Three copies of your plot plan must be submitted.". So I go in with three copies...she says..."We really need four" I point to the sign and she says, "I don't care what the sign says". So I tell her "Why don't you get off your lazy larda$$ and change it?"

It didn't get better from there. True story.
