The Latest COVID-19 Numbers for State of California 10,701 Cases, 237 Deaths

Sacramento, CA...The California Department of Public Health today announced the most recent statistics on COVID-19. California now has 10,701 confirmed cases and 237 deaths. As of April 2, local health departments have reported 156 confirmed positive cases in health care workers. For more information on COVID-19 and California's response visit the California Department of Public Health website.

Testing in California
As of April 2, approximately 94,800 tests had been conducted in California. At least 35,267 results have been received and another 59,500 are pending. These numbers include data California has received from commercial, private and academic labs, including Quest, LabCorp, Kaiser, University of California and Stanford, and the 22 state and county health labs currently testing.

How People Can Protect Themselves
Every person has a role to play. Protecting yourself and your family comes down to common sense:

Staying home except for essential needs/activities.
Practicing social distancing.
Washing hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds.
Avoiding touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
Covering a cough or sneeze with your sleeve, or disposable tissue. Wash your hands afterward.
Avoiding close contact with people who are sick.
Staying away from work, school or other people if you become sick with respiratory symptoms like fever and cough.
Following guidance from public health officials.

What to Do if You Think You're Sick
Call ahead: If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough or shortness of breath) and may have had contact with a person with COVID-19, or recently traveled to countries with apparent community spread, call your health care provider before seeking medical care so that appropriate precautions can be taken.

For more information about what Californians can do to prevent the spread of COVID-19, visit Coronavirus (COVID-19) in California.

California continues to issue guidance on preparing and protecting California from COVID-19. Consolidated guidance is available on the California Department of Public Health's Guidance web page.

This is all the fault of the Obama Administration. They left the Trump Administration without masks, ventilators, testing devices and PPE. We wouldn't have any deaths in California if the Obama Administration would have done their job. This is exactly why the Democrats did not win the last election.

I saw a guy at the store checkout line with a 12 pack of beer cans and that's all he had to buy. We ALL need to stay home unless there is a need to get our ESSENTIALS. So some of you folks need to GET OFF THE BOTTLE AND THE PIPE OR WHATEVER AND HEED TO SUGGESTIONS OR ADVICE! Besides, any foreign substance in your body unless its legal medication is not good for our bodies. Booze also lowers the body temps-not raise it like some folks think. Booze also eats away in our "systems" especially weakens our immune systems. Who knows-you all might stay healthier and feel better.

What is essential to the man buying the beer may not be essential to you doctor. If I want to buy alcohol and abuse my body so I can be more susceptible to diseases then that is my business. Maybe you should be wearing a mask to stop all of that sh*t that coming out of your mouth.

Maybe you should be thoughtful of others and reduce your trips especially for nonessential items. The fewer folks who are out and about the quicker this virus will end. We all have to make some sacrifices!

Emergency preparedness is a state responsibility. Not federal. The Feds get involved when the STATES do not adequately prepare.

Really? Trump’s been in office for over 3 years. One of the first things his administration did was get rid of Obama’s pandemic team. I’m not sure if you’re trolling or just incredibly stupid. Trump’s actions are literally going to kill tens if not hundreds of thousands of lives. You poor *bleep*, learn something.

      Republican Party Fools
Posted on: 2020-04-04 10:40:34   By: Anonymous

The Republican party taken over by the Libertarian capitalists main goal was to break all regulations and past government agencies, all for profits.
The delayed actions by the tRump administration was because they were busy for weeks making deals, with testing labs and all those involved in an epidemic response.
Profits over people, even it's own citizens. These less than humans are complete sociopaths.

The US was shipping PPE and equipment abroad, maximizing profits, instead of marshaling everything for the coming epidemic.

tRump has blood and death on his hands, Kushner now shows the ugly face of sociopathic capitalism.

Many countries moved swiftly to shore up supplies for a potential pandemic. Global Trade Alert reported that from January 1 through March 11, 24 countries, including South Korea and Germany, moved to ban exports of vital health care products in a bid to shore up domestic supply.

The failure of the U.S. to recognize Covid-19 as a serious problem follows years of efforts to dismantle federal programs designed to maintain international disease surveillance. The Trump administration cut 14 employees from the Beijing office of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and closed U.S. Agency for International Development programs in China working to monitor disease outbreaks over the last two years. In 2018, Trump disbanded the National Security Council office devoted to pandemic preparation.

The Trump Administration is not responsible for this virus. China is the one to blame by not notifying the United States early enough to stop the spread. President Trump stopped travel from China as soon as this virus appeared in the United States. The Obama Administration left the United States with very little PPE equipment which is why New York City is having a hard time trying to control this virus.

The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) of the Department of Health and Human Services has managed the Strategic National Stockpile since October 1, 2018. Prior to that, the stockpile was managed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

In April 1998, President Bill Clinton read the Richard Preston novel The Cobra Event, a fiction book about a mad scientist spreading a virus throughout New York City. As a result, Clinton held a meeting with scientists and cabinet officials to discuss the threat of bioterrorism. He was so impressed, that he asked the experts to meet with senior-level aides at the Department of Defense and in the Department of Health and Human Services. At that time, the government had stockpiles of medications for military personnel, but did not have them for civilians. Shortly after, The Washington Post wrote that Clinton surprised many in Washington at how fast he and his National Security Council had moved to change that. By October, Clinton signed into law[3] a new budget of $51 million for pharmaceutical and vaccine stockpiling to be carried out by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.[

It was great until he came along. Now we are facing a catastrophe. And he keeps running his mouth about how good he is doing, and then, AND THEN, he appoints his freaking son-in-law to manage the crisis . If you were t scared before, you really should be now. Jared Kushner, really? Why not a top military logistics team?

You fuc*ing Democrats never have anything to say about our President but a bunch of sh*t. President Trump is handling everything just fine. He has the doctors to back him and guide him to do all of the right things. He has his Administration, who are in the background working their asses off to defeat this virus. All Americans are being compensated due to lack of work and hopefully most people will be back at their jobs soon. What the hell do you a-holes want? If you think you can run this country any better at this time then go for it.
