AWA Customer Service Office Closed to General. Public Dropbox, Phone and Online Access Available for Payments and Assistance

Sutter Creek, CA...The Amador Water Agency (AWA) is taking steps to ensure the health and safety of customers and employees due to COVID-19 (coronavirus) concerns. Please note that beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020, and until further notice, AWA will be closing its Customer Service lobby at the Administrative Office (12800 Ridge Road, Sutter Creek) to the public.

Customers can still pay their utility bills on site by placing their payment in the overnight drop box located near the Customer Service office entrance. Customers may also make payments online at www.AmadorWater.org and by phone (209-223-3018, option 2).

This health outbreak is not expected to disrupt service to our customers. AWA leadership is closely following recommended guidelines for protecting the public and AWA employees while maintaining the delivery of high-quality and reliable water supplies.

AWA reminds the public that the coronavirus (or COVID-19) has no impact on the quality or supply of your domestic drinking water (tap water). We want to reassure our customers that your tap water remains available, plentiful and safe to drink.

According to the Center for Disease Control, conventional water treatment methods that use filtration and disinfection, such as those in Amador Water Agency drinking water systems, remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19. There is no evidence to date that COVID-19 has been transmitted through wastewater systems.

AWA takes the health and safety of its customers and its staff very seriously and we will do everything in our control to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. We remain available to serve you at 209-223-3018 or via email at customerservice@amadorwater.org.

More information from the Center for Disease Control on drinking water, wastewater and COVID-19 can be found here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/php/water.html
