Women’s Build Day for Habitat for Humanity Home
Valley Springs, CA...Twenty-five women of Calaveras County will pick up hammers, nails and wood to begin framing the Habitat for Humanity Calaveras house in Rancho Calaveras on May 10, 2008. The all day event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with lunch included. Jan Schmidiger of Sheep Ranch, is construction site manager for the day. Deana Murchison of Mountain Ranch, has headed three previous Women’s Build Days. The future owner of the Habitat home, Teresa Renfro will also participate. The Rancho Calaveras home is Habitat for Humanity Calaveras’ eighth home.
Habitat for Humanity of Calaveras provides home ownership to responsible local families who cannot afford it on their own. As an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International it shares the national organization’s mission of building affordable homes for and with families in need of decent housing.
