Felony Vehicle Pursuit & Arrest in Burson Area

Burson, CA...On October 12th 2019, at about 10:15 AM, Calaveras County Sheriff’s Deputies were investigating a reported burglary in the 11000 block of Arapaho Way in Burson CA. At the conclusion of the burglary investigation, Calaveras County Sheriff’s Dispatch was informed of a suspicious circumstance at a nearby residence. Deputies learned a wanted subject named Ricky Cavaco was hiding in the residence and was possibly in possession of firearms. Cavaco was confirmed to be on felony probation out of Tuolumne County and was wanted on multiple Calaveras County and Amador County misdemeanor warrants.

Deputies staged in the area for additional units to arrive prior to making contact. While waiting nearby, Cavaco and his passenger Jace Malinowski attempted to drive out of the area in a vehicle. Deputies recognized Cavaco as the driver of the vehicle and initiated a traffic enforcement stop however, Cavaco accelerated away from the deputies. He attempted to evade them and fled on the dirt road at a high rate of speed.

The pursuit lasted for several miles and ultimately terminated in the 5000 block of Buckboard Lane in Campo Seco. The suspect vehicle became stuck after Cavaco recklessly rammed multiple locked gates in his attempt to escape. Cavaco and Malinowski proceeded to flee on foot into a heavily wooded area. Deputies gave chase and set up a perimeter. Additional units were called in to assist in the search efforts. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Off Highway Vehicles Division, as well as an Officer from the Department of Fish and Wildlife deployed OHV’s to conduct a broader search of the area. The Angels Camp Police Department K9 unit arrived and attempted to track the suspects.

Cavaco was apprehended by California Highway Patrol Officers on a nearby roadway and Jace Malinowski was located by Deputies as he walked along South Camanche Parkway.

Deputies located a loaded .22 caliber rifle as well as numerous rounds of other ammunition in the vehicle Cavaco was driving. Also located in the vehicle was evidence of a butane honey oil (concentrated Cannabis extraction) lab. The investigation is ongoing with no further information at this time.

Cavaco was booked for the following charges:
11379.6 H&S (Manufacture a Controlled substance- Felony)
2800.2 CVC (Felony Evading)
25850 PC (Carry Loaded Firearm in Public Place)
29800 PC (Felon in Possession of Firearm)
30305 PC (Prohibited Person in Possession of Ammunition)
1203.2 PC (Violation of Probation- Felony)
11357(b) H&S (Possession of Marijuana over 28.5 Grams)
12022(a) PC (Attempting Felony using Firearm)
594 PC (Vandalism)
148(a) PC (R esisting Arrest)
No Bail (Probation violation)

Malinowski was booked for the following charges:
11379.6 H&S (Manufacture a Controlled substance- Felony)
11357(b) H&S (Possession of Marijuana over 28.5 Grams)
11379.6 H&S (Manufacture a Controlled substance- Felony)
25850 PC (Carry Loaded Firearm in Public Place)
148(a) PC (Resisting Arrest)
Malinowski total bail is $125,000.00.

The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the numerous citizens who made reports of the fleeing subjects, for their assistance. The Sheriff’s Office would also like to extend its thanks to the Angels Camp Police Department, Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the California Highway Patrol for their assistance.

I would think this guy would live in Avery the scum capital of Calaveras. Tanwood MHP has way to many meth people living there. Who cares about pot when they can arrest the meth users or manufacturers what is wrong with the sheriff and why don't they crack down hard on crack cocaine and meth use which is rampant in this county? Those users are all REPUBLICANS

Anyone see Hunter Biden on ABC? If he didn't do anything wrong why did Hunter step down from the Chinese Board? It's not the same as when dad threaten to withhold 1.1 BILLION DOLLARS from Ukraine unless they fired the prosecuter and Joe said so to reporters.
Boy, talk about corruption and democrats are worse then anyone. Hunter was kicked out of the service because he was a druggie. He should move here and be on the Calaveras County bos, he'd fit in perfectly.

Commercial pot growing will just bring more and more of these criminals to the county. I personally don't have a problem with anyone who wishes to sue the BOS/County related to any crime committed against them if they can tie the crime in any way to a approved commercial pot farm. It is not and will never be a clean business generation clean money! BOS, if you don't keep ban in place it will all be on you.

POT growers are drug pushers. Drug use is not a healthy way of life. If you need and are addicted to mind altering drugs to exist, you are the problem. It's one thing if you choose to foul your thinking and body with drugs, but when you are growing, producing, supplying and promoting it to others, you are nothing more than a drug pusher.

No, close minded, misinformed, hypocritical people like you are the problem. It's a plant. Think about it...a plant, it's been here longer than us probably. What about vineyards? They're grown to produce mind altering alchohol. I guess they're drug pushers too. Read this again, it's a plant. And it's one that has been used for thousands of years by humans for many uses. The real drug pushers are the dirtbag pharmaceutical company's you get your pills from. Pills that kill hundreds of thousands of people every year around the world. Go preach your outdated propaganda fueld nonsense to them.

The drugged mind thinks it is doing just fine. In the world of drugs if you need to call the cops, maybe its time to quit.

Writing too much in "caps" just shows how you are a very disoriented person and disturbed. I really feel for you. And do you know how wrong you are? Actually and according to history, there have always been crooked politicians of any party and also those who were nonpartisan. So don't be pointing fingers at Republicans and Republican leaders!

Just another angry Flatlander Citidiot who has moved here and will never fit in. They keep running off the roads stoned and drunk. They have a hard time driving when they are not in bumper to bumper traffic. Not enough people for them to just fall through life following along on the bumper of others here.
