Call for Artists Everywhere for “Safe Space” Exhibit in Jackson

Jackson, CA...Call-to-Artists: Calling all artists of all ages, all disciplines, and skills to submit works to “Safe Space”—an art show celebrating the courage and beauty of rural, queer communities. By highlighting the experiences of the marginalized and disenfranchised, “Safe Space” serves to bring new opportunities for understanding the value of diversity in our rural community. Open world-wide for all rural LGBTQ/Ally artists, this show is produced by the Amador County Arts Council in collaboration with Tri-County LGBTQ Alliance, Amador PFLAG, Amador County Suicide Prevention Coalition (SPEAK), Sierra Wind Wellness and Recovery Center, and Blue Mountain Coalition for Youth and Families. “Safe Space” is a perfect art show for all rural, LGBTQ/Ally artists, who want to nurture intercultural and inclusive rural communities.

Intent to Submit must be received by September 27th. Each artist may enter one piece. Pieces may be for sale by the artist. If you would like to submit art to this show: email the coordinator, Cynthia at cynthia.amadorarts@gmail.com, subject line: “Intent to Submit, Safe Space”.

Once signed up, artists must prepare their works for hanging or installation and deliver them to the Amador County Arts Council by October 11th. The location is in Jackson, CA at 617 South CA-Hwy 49 in the Mother Lode Plaza, and the open hours are Monday-Friday, 2:00 to 6:00 pm.

If you need art supplies or resources, notify the Amador County Arts Council for assistance. The “Safe Space” exhibit will run from October 25th through December 20th, Monday through Friday, from 2-6pm, closed for holidays on November 25-29. The Opening Reception, free and open to the public, will be Friday, November 15th from 4-7pm. This reception will include music, snacks, and performance artists. This activity is made possible in part by the California Arts Council, a state agency. Contact info: (209)256-8166 or email cynthia.amadorarts@gmail.com.

Bret Harte will need a safe space after their embarrassing loss tomorrow!

Drunks and snowflakes can’t win games!

They can’t even get a whole team of snowflakes together! Pathetic!

What in the blue hell are they afraid of?

      Drunks and snowflakes?

They can’t even get a full team for Pete sake!

Too many over babied ego maniac snowflakes at Bret Harte!

Never will get the bell or are worthy of having the bell!

Do you know one of the top signs you’re immature?
Being 50+ years old, still living in the town you grew up in, with a low wage, dead end job, no education past high school, and STILL obsessing over your high school sport rivalries.

        GROW UP.

Calaveras graduates don’t go to college. They pop out babies the year after they finish senior year, work fast food jobs and stay in this sh*t county for the rest of their lives dreaming about their high school days.
They can keep the bell. That’s all they’ve got going for them.
I’ll take my good grades and scholarships to a UC, thank you very much...

I remember when Calaveras was normal. You have got to be kidding.

This criticism is coming from someone who can’t string a coherent sentence together, and who doesn’t understand how to use (or not use) possessives.
Maybe you need to go back to school? 😜

Don’t forget all the exclamation points! Have to end every sentence with an exclamation point! 😛
