Phoenix Lake Golf Course to Close October 1st

Sonora, CA...Phoenix Lake Golf Course was founded in 1968 by Bert Stamp in the heart of the Sierra Nevada. Just minutes from Twain Harte, Pine Crest Lake, and Dodge Ski Resort, the historic towns of Columbia, Jamestown and Sonora offer an array of live theater, antique shops and great restaurants.

The course hosts a driving range, club and power cart rentals, professional golf instruction, and a newly remodeled clubhouse.

Golf amid a relaxing, challenging and scenic course...all size groups and experienced golfers are welcomed.

Great Idea! The homeless could use the bathroom and shower facilities there too.
The county has been proposing ideas for housing the homeless, but the county has no funding. Why let the golf course buildings go to waste? It's a ready made solution. Plus there's plenty of room for tents and shopping cart parking.

Get the buses rolling and move those "new neighbors" to the course.

Maybe the local Walmart will donate golf cubs and golf balls.

Fact is Black Oak is the new buyer, they plan on shutting it down , at least the golf course, eliminate the competition... probably going to develop it into low income housing
