San Andreas Man Sentanced to 350 Years to Life for Rape & Sexual Assaults

San Andreas, CA...On July 15, 2019, visiting Judge Susan Harlan sentenced Anthony Christopher Blymyer, 44, to a term of 350 years to life in state prison for repeated and violent sex offenses he committed against two young children. Blymyer had been found guilty as charged of 14 separate counts and special allegations by a Calaveras County Jury on May 16, 2019, following a trial lasting seven days.

Deputy District Attorney Monique Neese tried the case on behalf of the Calaveras County District Attorney’s Office. “The Defendant was supposed to care for and protect these two young girls, and instead, he violated them in unspeakable ways,” Neese said. From April 2010 to August 2015, Blymyer engaged in multiple sexual acts with each child, culminating in forcible rape. When the children tried to fight back, Blymyer used physical force. To keep the children from reporting his crimes, Blymyer threatened to kill the children and their families. After Blymyer moved away to Utah, the children told their mother about the abuse and she reported the crimes to the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office. CCSO Detectives worked closely with the DA’s office investigating this case and extraditing Blymyer from Utah to California to face charges.

“We are grateful for the time and attention of the Jury members, especially in a case like this where the testimony was at times simply gut-wrenching,” said District Attorney Barbara M. Yook. Bringing Blymyer to justice started with the bravery of the victims coming forward. “Telling the Jury the details about what happened to them while the monster who abused them was sitting in the courtroom, makes both girls heroes in my book,” said Neese.
