Lip Sync Challenge Awards Presented at Supervisors Meeting

San Andreas, CA...From the Calaveras Sheriff's Dept..."This morning three students from Avery Middle School who participated in the Sheriff's Office Lip Sync video came to the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors meeting and presented Sheriff Rick DiBasilio, Corporal Nichole Riviera, and Deputy Joel Burnett with plaques for 'Outstanding Service'. The students were representatives from the school to say thank you to the Sheriff for doing the Lip Sync Challenge video and allowing students to participate."

The Lip Sync presentation was great. Good job kids. But what I liked better was Toffanelli talking out of both sides of his mouth!

Sheriff's Office Lip Sync video
Posted on: 2018-12-06 07:14:51   By: Anonymous

It was a bad idea from the beginning, that ended up making them all look incompetent. Then go and involve children in it? Still shameful and an unfortunate unprofessional showing of our County law enforcement.

You ever stop to think that a little interaction with law enforcement as a young person can have very positive results in their development. They might even grow up and become productive citizens and not end up working on pot farms. Way to go SO!

I think it was very professional and would hope any of the 3 law enforcement officer's in the pic would be the one's to arrive if I ever had occasion to need their help!
Thank you for being a part of the lighter side of our community!!!

Yes way to go SO! It is so true that we don't need the kids in our county eventually working in pot farms here. They don't need that along with that whole counterculture or subculture connected with those types of businesses. We have all learned about the down side of all that from the last few years. We need to add more businesses and more better and productive businesses in our county that have some integrity!

Someone is grumpy! Come on. Kids love getting included. They seemed super happy and appeared to try really hard to not be nervous at public speaking. All of this is good experience for a middle schooler.

Did you realize that the community dogged the County Sheriff's Dept. until they agreed to accept the Lip Sync Challenge? Then these law enforcement officers and others and firefighters did the video on their own time, from what I've heard. Whether you like the video or don't like it, it has gone on to be a great morale booster, recruitment too, besides allowing them, the community and these children to have some fun. Lighten up.
