Most Federal Offices Closed on Dec 5th in Honor of George Herbert Walker Bush

Washington, DC...Executive Order on Providing for the Closing of Executive Departments and Agencies of the Federal Government on December 5, 2018. By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1. All executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government shall be closed on December 5, 2018, as a mark of respect for George Herbert Walker Bush, the forty-first President of the United States.

Sec. 2. The heads of executive departments and agencies may determine that certain offices and installations of their organizations, or parts thereof, must remain open and that certain employees must report for duty on December 5, 2018, for reasons of national security, defense, or other public need.

Sec. 3. December 5, 2018, shall be considered as falling within the scope of Executive Order 11582 of February 11, 1971, and of 5 U.S.C. 5546 and 6103(b) and other similar statutes insofar as they relate to the pay and leave of employees of the United States.

Sec. 4. The Director of the Office of Personnel Management shall take such actions as may be necessary to implement this order.

Sec. 5. General Provisions. (a) This order shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.

(b) Nothing in this order shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:

(i) the authority granted by law to an executive department or agency, or the head thereof; or

(ii) the functions of the Director of the Office of Management and Budget relating to budgetary, administrative, or legislative proposals.

(c) This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.

DONALD J. TRUMP

THE WHITE HOUSE,
December 1, 2018.

What's this going to cost the tax payers along with wages for the Feds, State, County, Cities, and schools being shut down for the day. Get your ass to work!

Who cares? Government doesn't, to them tax money is just play money. It magically appears to fill government coffers and be spent wisely or recklessly. It's interesting how our county which at least until recently had it's ass in a sling thinks nothing of an extra day off (with benefits) for all employees paid by the rest of us, who work today. Wonder what this day is costing the county? Costing us, I should say. 2.65.665 should be done away with.

Oh, for goodness sake. Let's take some time to remember a great statesman and put aside our petty and political differences for a day. The most memorable words during this morning's service so far spoke to service to country and fellow man, consideration of future generations and compromise. All lost in DC in recent years.

Yep, Trump is a real slimeball act. He'll never be known for his grace or unanimity, that's certain. If ANY of those former presidents show at his funeral it will be only to pee on him.

Clinton/DRAFT DODGER
GW BUSH/. ALMOST A DRAFT DODGER
OBAMA/. TOO DUMB TO SERVE
TRUMP/DRAFT DODGER
Why do we settle for DRAFT DODGERSto run our country? They, the Preident's have the right to send your's and my kid to war when they never served themselves! What a bunch of hypocrites, and we, the voter's need to demand, combat hardened Preident's and not DRAFT DODGER'S! Half or more of the BABY BOOMER's we're DRAFT DODGER'S! They are the one spit on us when we returned, the MILLENIALS couldn't fight themselves out of a wet paper bag, they are either obese or so skinny from co-Ed P.E. What a F upped country we have become!

Obama was in college and chose to sign up but the Viet Nam war was over. Like many of us who chose to pursue degrees and work in service to our country in other ways, we saw no point in serving when there was no longer any active military engagement. Bush Sr. served admirably and was shot down as an airman. You know nothing of what you speak.

ps - Trump is likely the one example with which I would agree. An elitist, self-serving family made up of takers and without the interests of the American people at heart.

Seriously? Where did you go to college or university? Obama was and is a gifted intellectual, as is his wife. You'll never begin to understand because of your pre-existing prejudices and likely what has held you down from real accomplishment in life.

Obama was and is a gifted intellectual??
Is that why Chris Matthews could only praise "the crease in his slacks" as Obama's distinguishing characteristic?

Gave Chris "tingles up his leg".

What a fitting way to represent the Republican Party than by not providing a basic service that is payed for by US tax payers.

And Bush handed Michelle a cough drop since she had a slight cough so then it goes viral that he handed her a note with a "good lawyers" phone # on it.
C'mon people. All parties in that front row (Trump and the older ex presidents and wives) were very civil. Have some respect!

Just got back from doing a 12 hr. stint in my log tuck, and just read the comments that came out after my post, saw exactly what I expected. You Progressives are beyond stupid, you gibe Bill( pedophile ) Clinton a pass, Obama was too smart to go, guess what, he was wrestling up black's against whites, this day in his presidency, besides gutting the military, and disrespecting the very people that carted his ass around,! You know how many really bright people gave their lives in Vietnam while you felt too special to give of your time? Working for Cal-Fire, CalTrans or any other government entity is no where equivalent to those of us that served! By the way, Trump has been the bestDraft Dodging Preident's we have had! He owes nothing to anyone and couldn't be bought from any of your Progrssive friends!!Barry only knew how to make prediction's about the economy that took a real patriot to clean up his mess!

So what is your reasoning by saying Trump is a draft dodger? If someone goes to college and gets hisr\ degree successfully and gets college deferment does that means he is a draft dodger?
