Two Subjects Arrested for Burglarizing Houseboats on Melones

Angels Camp, CA...On 11-1-18 at approx. 0705 hours a CCSO Deputy responded to the New Melones Lake Marina for a reported possible burglary in progress. Marina employees called dispatch after seeing two subjects pushing a wheel barrel loaded with expensive items from the area of the closed business. A CCSO Deputy arrived on scene and contacted Brooke Prentiss (age 32 of Sonora) and Morgan Styre (age 22 of St Keyes). The subjects were in possession of a wheel barrel that contained multiple items including a Yeti ice chest, Ipads, depth finder, and high end fishing bags and equipment. Through further investigation by the Deputy and the Marina employees, it was discovered that multiple houseboats on the lake had been broken into and the items in the wheel barrel were stolen property.

Both Prentiss and Styre were arrested and booked in to the Calaveras County Jail with $150,000 bail for multiple counts of burglary as well as grand theft and criminal conspi racy. Morgan Styre was additionally booked for two outstanding misdemeanor warrants out of Tuolumne County.

CCSO Deputies are conducting follow-up with the burglary victims. If anyone has information regarding this case, please call our Sheriff Dispatch at (209) 754-6500 and ask to speak with the deputy assigned to the case.
