September 8th Services for Angels Camp's Wilma Jean Moller Sperry 1937 - 2018

Angels Camp, CA...Lifelong Angels Camp Resident, Wilma Jean Sperry, passed away unexpectedly at her home on August 24, 2018. She was 80 years old. She was born in Angels Camp, California on December 10, 1937 to Niels Hansen Moller and Hazel Anna Foppiano. She graduated from Bret Harte High School in 1955 and shortly after met the love of her life, John “Jack” Lewis Sperry. They were married on October 14, 1956 in Angels Camp. Wilma enjoyed her career at Mark Twain Elementary School as both a teacher’s aide and librarian for over 30 years.

Wilma attended Foothill Community Church and enjoyed her visit to Starbucks after Sunday services. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and spent as much time as she could with them. She always looked forward to hosting large family dinners at her home during the holidays. Those who knew her couldn’t help but love her sweet nature and witty sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John “Jack” Lewis Sperry.
She is survived by her children, Jack (Sherrie) Sperry of Angels Camp, Rindy Davis of Angels Camp and Tom (Kim) Sperry of Ripon. Her grandchildren, Jack (Kristin) Sperry, Jerett (Malorie) Sperry, Chad (Shian) Miller, Andrew Stenquist, Stephen Sperry and Danielle Sperry. She is also survived by six great grandchildren as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Matt Trueb and Jesse Truelock for their help and efforts in the aid of Wilma.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on September 8th at Foothill Community Church in Angels Camp.

I've known Mrs. Sperry for what seems like forever. She was a great neighbor, and yard duty teacher at Mark Twain. I take comfort in knowing she is reunited with Jack. My old neighborhood has lost a wonderful lady!
