Can You Speak Bjornloppet?~By John Hamilton
Bear Valley, CA...Tomorrow Bear Valley Cross Country hosts the 35th Annual Bjornloppet Race. It is one of most prestigious events on the cross county racing calendar on the West Coast. The Bjornloppet offers 10k & 20k lenghts for you to test your skills and fitness levels against the other competitors. This event has become somewhat of a reunion event as well. It seems to draw the Bear Valley veterans back to the area for a visit. We had the chance to talk with Bear Valley Cross Country's Head Skater Paul Peterson about the upcoming race and all the latest updates on what is happen at BVXC and their over 40 miles of trails, Sledding Hills and other attractions and activities for you to do in the beautiful Bear Valley Meadow and surrounding areas...
Bear Valley Cross County makes up an integral part of the attractions in the area. There trails offer a relaxed way to really soak up the beauty of the area. They have picnic tables and even a Meadow Cafe to provide a wonderful way to Dine Al Fresco.
With the beautiful spring weather, plenty of snow and miles and miles of trails to explore there has never been a better time to ski, sled, dine and explore Bear Valley.
Just in case you were wondering Bjornloppet means "Bear Race." Our chat with Paul runs just about 10 minutes.
