Major Injuries to Sonora Man in 450ft Vehicle Plunge Off of Wards Ferry Road

Sonora, CA...On August 18, 2018, at approximately 1745 hours, Joshua Nevel of Sonora was driving his 2003 GMC Sierra, southbound on Wards Ferry Road at an unknown speed. For unknown reasons, Nevel failed to negotiate a right hand curve in the roadway. Nevel made an unsafe turning movement and allowed his vehicle to drive off the east roadway edge of Wards Ferry Road. The GMC rolled over multiple times and fell approximately 450 feet down the embankment towards the Tuolumne River.

Nevel was ejected in an easterly direction from his vehicle. Nevel sustained major injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to Doctors Medical Center.

Alcohol was not a factor in the collision.

My 150 lb wolf hybrid was the same with a kitten we found abandoned under our patio step. The little guy had his whiskers burnt off and was so malnourished. We took him in and after only a few days introduced him to Shadow. A week later Shadow had somehow got the door opened to where the kitten was. We got upstairs in time to watch her with kitten in her mouth heading down the hall. We literally held our breath, ready to jump in. But Shadow laid the kitten on her blankie & started to lick & clean him. Then she nuzzled him up under her chest & he cuddled right in. From that day on, Shadow was mommy in every way except feeding. Problem was, kitty grew up thinking he was a wolf! They both lived to be 17, and were together until Shadow died. Kitty grieved for his "mommy" for the longest time.

If you want an exciting road to drive off of, Wards Ferry over the Tuolumne River is it.

Another Idiot driving recklessly without a seat belt who then gets ejected from the vehicle and causes major injuries to himself which could have been avoided if he was wearing a seatbelt and slowed the hell down.
