Wildfire Hazardous Smoke Advisory for Southeastern Calaveras County

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Public Health Officer and Calaveras County Air Pollution Control District are issuing a joint air quality advisory to notify the public of the potentially hazardous air quality conditions due to smoke from fires currently burning throughout the state. Although the air throughout the county is currently rated as Unhealthy, the Southeast portion of the county including Arnold and the surrounding areas have deteriorated enough to be rated as Hazardous according to the EPA rating scale. The air quality is expected to fluctuate over the next few days.

The potential impact varies, based on geographical location and wind direction, but has the greatest impact on sensitive populations, including individuals with heart and lung disease, elderly persons, infants, children and pregnant women.

As general cautionary measures, the following measures can be taken to protect during periods of poor air quality:
 Stop outdoor activities, especially exercise
 Stay indoors with windows and doors closed as much as possible
 Do not run fans that bring smoky outdoor air inside – examples include swamp coolers, whole-house fans, and fresh air ventilation systems
 Run your air-conditioner only if it does not bring smoke in from the outdoors. Change the standard air conditioner filter to a medium or high efficiency filter. If available, use the “re-circulate” or “recycle” setting on the unit
 Do not smoke, vacuum, fry food, or do other things that will create indoor air pollution
 If you have asthma, take your medications and follow your asthma management plan
 People with severe health conditions should consider leaving the area for a few days.

Even healthy persons can be affected by wildfire smoke. If you can see or smell smoke, take precautions. People with heart or lung disease who experience repeated coughing, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, wheezing, chest tightness or pain should contact their doctor or clinic. “If an existing illness gets worse due to smoke exposure, seek medical help,” advised Dr. Dean Kelaita, County Health Officer.

The Calaveras County Air Pollution Control District will continue monitoring the air quality in the county and will provide additional advisories as air quality conditions evolve.

For more information call the Calaveras County Air Pollution Control District at (209) 754-6399 or Calaveras County Health and Human Services – Public Health Division at (209) 754-6460.

Duuuuuh....really? There's a lot of smoke in the southern county? You government types over there need to realize there's more to the county than San Andreas and East Stockon. Yes, it's been deadly smokey here in the south county for the last three weeks. Where have you been?

Yeah because we know democrats don't work, they sleep in until
11am, then they start their day with some Meth to wake up. Maybe
they'll use their skate board to go roll to the nearest park to play
Frisbee Golf. All of their associates will meet up with the home grown
      tweakers by using their smart
phones, provided by Gov Brown. You know, so they don't miss a
call from one of their job interviews.
Yes siree, some of you sure knew how to raise your kids up here.
Thank God there are still some good parents who try their
damnedest with their kids. Many of you raise your kids just like you do
when getting a new puppy. You think they're so cute when growing up
then at a certain point you lose interest. The only difference is
you don't chain the kid up and feed him once a day then ignore
him until the next feeding....only because you'd be arrested and thrown
      in jail.
Face it, fine people like those in BLM, looters, protesters out
all day and night, those are democrats. They can afford to take
the day and night off from stealing, robbing and committing
crimes since their jobs are stealing from the working people.
Got to run, unlike a democrat, I have a job to do, and yes, I set my alarm in my house when I leave.

Shoot! I'm a registered Republican and I've been living like a Democrat this whole time. Dang! Maybe I need to change my status? I thought all those goodies were part of Making America Great. I thought it was pretty good, getting better. Just impregnated my girlfriend/cousin for the fifth time. Think I'll stick with things as they are. Go Trump!
