August 5th Services & Celebration of Life for Firefighter & EPFD Board Member John Daniel “Dan” (No Public Parking Past The Bridge at White Pines on Sunday)

Arnold, CA...(Update...On Sunday August 5th, access to the White Pines Lake Beach parking area will be closed to the public for a Firefighters Memorial and procession and followed by a celebration of life at the Moose Lodge.) It is with deep regret that the Ebbetts Pass Fire District must announce the passing of one of our Board of Directors John Daniel “Dan” Leary. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 5th at 3:00 PM at Ebbetts Pass Fire District Station 1, located at 1037 Blagen Road in Arnold, CA 95223. The service will be held with full Fire Department Honors. After the funeral service, the Ebbetts Pass - Moose Lodge 1123, would like to invite you to celebrate the life of Dan Leary at their Lodge located at 1965 Blagen Rd, Arnold, CA 95223.

The Moose Lodge has requested that anyone planning on attending the Celebration of Life to please R.S.V.P. by emailing Ebbetts Pass Fire District at Any Fire Agencies wishing to send an apparatus for the procession should contact Captain Buhler at

Dan had served for over 24 years on the Board of Directors for the Ebbetts Pass Fire District. He was loyal to his Irish heritage and was an active firefighter for 40 years at the following fire districts: Tracy Defense Depot, Country Club Fire, Department, Lincoln Fire Department, Stockton Fire Department, and Fire Chief at Mokelumne Rural Fire District. He was a Fire Science instructor for the City of Stockton, and San Joaquin Delta College.

Dan joined the Ebbetts Pass Moose Lodge in 1990 and was very involved in the Arnold community.
