Another Fatality on our Local Roads as 73 Year Old San Andreas Man Loses Life in Collision

San Andreas, CA...On July 19, 2018, at approximately 1310 hours, a San Andreas man was driving a 1966 Chevy C10 truck, eastbound on Russell Road, approaching Market Street, at an unknown speed. For a yet to be determined reason, He made an unsafe turning movement and steered his pickup to the left. The front of the truck collided with a small tree, a large concrete block column and wood sign. He was pronounced deceased at the scene despite life saving efforts by emergency personnel.

The use of alcohol and/or drugs is unknown at this time, pending toxicology reports by the Calaveras County Coroner office.

Simple........"seat belts save lives". I've known that for at least 30 years, and I'm 73 !

Why would you not wear a seatbelt when driving a vehicle?

Because 1966 vehicles didn't have seat belts.

1966 vehicles do have seatbelts but no shoulder harnesses.

Not required until 1968, maybe an option. I install them on my hotrods.

Whatever, this proves that seat belts do save lives if you are wearing one.

That seat belt ain't gonna help you a bit with a heart attack or stroke.
Sorry for the fella and family.

The seat belt will save your life. You can survive a heart attack or stroke as compared to forced blunt trauma from hitting a tree or being ejected from the vehicle.

If someone doesn't wear a seatbelt, what do you care? It's themselves put at risk not you. Shove off!

He was a great guy, worked for us and everybody loved him. Well known in San Andreas.
Try to show some compassion , it could have been one of your family

Of course you can and why emergency medical personnel are also dispatched.
