36 Year Old Angels Camp Woman Loses Her Life in Vallecito Road Collision

Angels Camp, CA...On July 15, 2018, at approximately 1920 hours, Party #1 was driving her 2005 Subaru eastbound on Vallecito Road, east of Rolleri Bypass at a high rate of speed. Mr. Sanders was driving his 1980 Ford westbound on Vallecito Road, east of Rolleri Bypass at 40 mph approaching the 2005 Subaru. Party #1 attempted to negotiate a right hand curve and allowed her vehicle to travel across the double yellow line into the westbound lane. The left front of the Subaru collided with the left rear of the Ford. The Subaru continued eastbound and off of the roadway. The Subaru overturned twice, ejecting Party #1 from the vehicle.

As a result of the collision, Party #1 sustained life-threatening injuries. She was transported by ground to a landing zone at the Angels Camp Police Department. Party #1 succumbed to her injuries prior to being transported from the landing zone.

The use of alcohol and/or drugs is unknown at this time, pending toxicology reports by the Calaveras County Coroner office.

So inappropriate to scold locals on their driving at this time. Someone died and their family does not need to see anyone trying to teach a lesson on driving; they need some thoughts, prayers, and comfort not criticism. If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say it at all.

Agree to all above. Still, we all need to take note of how we drive. Now, that is positive!! You just as I could be the next victim. This happens way to often on our roads. Yes, accidents do happen but, let’s all be careful and respect other drivers. Some are old (like me) and, our reflexes aren’t like being younger.

Last night, 91 and 86 year old couple perished on 108 and 120. Let’s all learn and pay attention to our driving. Reminders never hurt anyone. Preventable is our future!!
