Five New Sheriff's Volunteers Heading to the Streets, Events & Lending a Helping Hand

San Andreas, CA...Sheriff DiBasilio administered the oath as 5 new members of the Calaveras County Sheriff's Volunteer Unit were sworn in. The Calaveras County Sheriff's Volunteer Unit is a group of individuals who support the Sheriff's office by working the county substations, doing patrols, working special events, and tackling many of the routine tasks, therefore freeing up paid deputies and saving county resources for other important needs. You will often see the volunteers at parades, the county fair, and other events. In addition to traffic control and crowd safety, the volunteers also take some of the paperwork burden off the Sheriff's department, offering a cost effective yet secure means of sharing the workload.

From L-R: Sheriff DiBasilio, Terry Bullock, Kathy Martin, Jan Jakubek, Bob Barron, and Jim Currier.

If you would like to become a member of the Calaveras County Sheriff's volunteer unit, visit the Calaveras County Sheriff's office in San Andreas, any of the convenient substations throughout the county, or call the Sheriff's office at 209-754-6500 and request an application.

OK, raise your hand and make it as big as you can. I find it easier if I deflate some air from my head & add it to my hands.

Yes, it is. Because I watch what I eat, exercise and take personal responsibility for my health. This photo is embarrassing and most in it should feel compelled to recognize they need to take care of themselves.

          “they’re” means “they are”
“there” means “not here, but over there”
          “their” means “belongs to them”
Free, unsolicited grammar lesson, I know.

Background checks
Posted on: 2018-07-10 00:35:18   By: Anonymous

Does the sheriffs office even look into the history of the people they appoint as VOLUNTEER SHERIFFS??? The guy in the pink shirt is a known opiate addict who is about to be indicted for laundering money through recent real estate transactions. The county now grants him access to law enforcement privileges and is being commended for doing some great service? This guy is trying to save face at the cost of citizens tax dollars. Do your homework sheriff!

Every volunteer goes thru an extensive background check thru the feds and the DOJ . . . same check done for every county employee.

You most likely owe the new volunteer a public apology.

This is what happens to a community with no real preventative health programs. Yea, thanks for your service and all that but they look like walking heart attacks. Take a trip to Save Mart in Angels and look at more than half the shoppers... it's really sad even tragic how out of touch our county is in terms of physical health.

So I'm a little bit overweight and my doc said recently that I am doing well for my age. Just got all my blood work results back and I passed! You really don't know what these people are capable of. It's not all about physical appearance-it's all about the knowledge that these people have and their attitudes. Who ever is commenting about their physiques I think they have the problem or just plain jealous. Maybe illegal growers?

AND BY THE WAY AN ILLEGAL GROWER WOULD THINK IT'S GREAT, AS THIS WAS THE BEST AND ONLY HELP OUR L.E COULD COME UP WITH. YOU ARE STUPID. WHAT A JOKE!
