Biplane Makes Emergency Landing Near Stevenot Bridge on Hwy 49

Tuttletown, CA...Update From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept..."The aircraft was forced to make a precautionary landing onto HWY 49 at the Stevenot Bridge according to protocol due to a fuel flow issue. Once additional safety checks were made, a road closure was provided so the aircraft could safely take off"

"Just before 5:30 this evening, our office received a call regarding an aircraft that had to make an emergency landing onto Hwy 49 at the Stevenot Bridge, due to low fuel. The aircraft safely landed and no injuries were reported.

CHP responded and provided a road closure until the aircraft could be refueled and safely take off."

I agree. There was one that every early weekend morning would fly low round and round my higher foothill home neighborhood. Ruined morning coffee and relaxing on my deck every weekend. I had to finally move because it was ruining my privacy, peace and quiet.

The planes now are constantly landing on our roadways. They are creating danger to all motorist now. They need a GIANT fine with the possibility of loosing their airplanes.

Fortunately everyone was safe and the pilot now knows the value of the preflight check list and having sufficient fuel.

The plane is used for charter and for flight instruction.
Maybe this was just part of the flight instructors lesson plan.

In the picture, snapped in the darkness of a Wilton vineyard, Jack Kautz crouches behind a dead buck, smiling as he holds up the animal's head by its freakishly large set of antlers.

It was a buck for the record books with sprawling antlers about an arm's width apart. If Katuz 52, had been had been able to claim it is a official trophy, he could have added it to his long list of accomplishments detailed on the website of his family's Lodi grape growing business, Ironstone Vineyards.
