Chase and Arrest Near Tuolumne City

Tuolumne, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Office..."A Sonora man, who already had two warrants out for his arrest, earned himself several more criminal charges after leading a Deputy on a vehicle pursuit in Tuolumne City.

Just before 9:30 Wednesday night, A Deputy spotted a 1995 Buick sedan with expired registration near the intersection of Pine Street and Chestnut Ave in Tuolumne City. The driver of the sedan failed to yield when the Deputy initiated a traffic enforcement stop. As the Deputy walked towards the vehicle to contact the man, the man put his car in drive and took off forcing the Deputy to jump out of the way to avoid being hit. A pursuit commenced and traveled a total of four miles when it ended on a private driveway on Yosemite Road.

The driver, 37-year-old Floyd Crow, ran from the car and was quickly apprehended by the pursuing Deputy. Crow faces new charges of vehicle evasion with disregard for public safety, assault with a dangerous weapon, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of plastic knuckles, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of a methamphetamine smoking pipe.
