If you think AT&T will provide good cell service, you're sadly mistaken. They are simply manipulating perception. They want this monopole so they can tell the CPUC, FCC and SEC that they have a suitable replacement for wireline technology and move to exit/abandon the regulated market. Wireless is essentially a non-regulated product and AT&T can -- and WILL -- take full advantage of that in pricing etc. This is the same company that had planned to take the government penalty regarding Health Care instead of continuing coverage for their employees because the penalty was cheaper. Thank God they got caught by accidentally including that leadership slide in a completely different subpoena response. Talk about fools! And here Calaveras County is trusting them to do the right thing. HA!
