President Trump's Weekly Address on Keeping People Safe

Washington, DC...My Fellow Americans, Protecting the safety and well-being of American Citizens is my highest duty as President. Yet, lawless sanctuary jurisdictions are nullifying federal law, obstructing immigration enforcement, and releasing thousands of criminal aliens into U.S. communities to prey on innocent victims. It’s absolutely terrible. For example, in recent days, San Francisco officials denied ICE’s request to turn over a criminal alien with a prior conviction for battery and a charge for driving under the influence.

In another city in California, local law enforcement recently denied ICE’s request to turn over a criminal alien convicted of Sexual Battery who had a history of domestic violence. A truly violent person.

And last week, the mayor of Oakland warned criminal aliens of a coming ICE enforcement action – giving them time to scatter and hide from authorities. The mayor’s conduct directly threatened the safety of federal immigration officers and the law-abiding Americans in her community.

The State of California is sheltering dangerous criminals in a brazen and lawless attack on our Constitutional system of government. Every state in our Union is subject to the laws and Constitution of the United States – including California. Yet California’s leaders are in open defiance of federal law. They don’t care about crime. They don’t care about death and killings. They don’t care about robberies. They don’t care about the kind of things that you and I care about.

In other recent cases, New York authorities released illegal aliens who were previously charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, possession of poisonous drugs, and strangling a person – in each case, New York officials had refused to turn these dangerous illegal aliens over to ICE or notify ICE about their release with enough time for them to be safely arrested.

Just this week, the city of Denver refused ICE’s request to turn over a criminal illegal alien charged with vehicular homicide for killing another driver in a horrific hit-and-run.

Sanctuary jurisdictions are the best friend of smugglers, gang members, drug dealers, human traffickers, killers, and other violent offenders.

We want our cities to be sanctuaries for Americans, not safe havens for criminals. That is why I am calling on Congress to block funds for jurisdictions that shield dangerous criminals.

It is time to end the bloodshed brought about by reckless sanctuary policies – and it is time to save American lives and American cities.

Thank you. God bless you. And God bless America.

He's has a team of "the best" people to send out thoughts and prayers! Now if that doesn't make you sleep well at night, then you might hate America!

The best way to straighten out moonbeam is to enforce federal marijuana laws to the hilt. Shut down every dispensary, tear out every grow indoor and outdoor, and confiscate the property where they are located. The crackdown would stop when California stops the hiding the illegals and cooperates with ICE and other federal agencies to enforce immigration laws.

Thank God for Trump! Yes, he's quirky and tweets too much, but his policy is spot on constitutional.

California has been going off the deep end for a long time now and this state has some rude awakenings coming.

Federal Funding is a THIRD of California's budget! That's welfare and social services! Get ready public employees for your Furloughs to return. Times will be tought, and the California governement will try to focus the blame on Trump, not on themselves. But we Americans will see through their lies.

Trump 2020!

You are right but CA is a toxic business climate. The only reason most of us stay is climate and scenic wise it just can't be beat.

It's about time President Trump started kicking ass and taking names in California.
Enough is enough when it comes to Liberal Democrat scofflaws.

The best part is Obama and holder set the precedent to have these stupid sanctuary City laws overturned, thanks Obama.
In 2010, then Attorney General Eric Holder sued Arizona over state law S.B. 1070. “Setting immigration policy and enforcing immigration laws is a national responsibility,” Holder stated at the time regarding his decision to sue Arizona over the law. “Seeking to address the issue through a patchwork of state laws will only create more problems than it solves.”

You really need to pull yourself away from the altar of FOX News and do a bit of independent research on occasion. Absolutely nothing you have stated can be corroborated. But as I understand it, in your world if something is repeated often enough it becomes truth.

Sure - haul away half of the migrants picking CA crops and see how you feel about paying $5 for the avocado to make your Super Bowl guac. The reality is our economy is dependent on these hardworking people and some kind of compromise could be made. Trump's quick to call out the gangbangers and such but there are many illegals living among us, working and paying taxes. Most of the violence you read about in Stockton and San Jose is perpetrated by home grown boys and girls.

Dump uses the old schtick of repeating lies and fear. Remember his announcement speech? Mexico- they send in murderers, rapists, criminals.

It's getting old playing to your dwindling base, who slowly are waking up, theie paycheck boost didn't happen, only the 1% gain in the once again BS trickle down lie.
How many times will you rubes fall for this same old same old crap .
The answer is to shut off the true fake news- Fox and hate radio.
You can join the citizens who want to share in a better life for all, or you can continue to be played for the Fox rubes you are.
It's never too late to wake up.
A big Blue wave is coming, a better life for working folks, the middle class.
      Resist! Resignation, or Impeachment coming.
Dumpy will never make it to Fall 2020.

Uh, no. California has the 6th largest economy IN THE WORLD.
We could take no federal dollars and be just fine, however, the federal government would go belly up of California stopped paying into the system.
Cheeto needs to do some reading before he spouts lies...
