41 Year Old Wilsyville Woman & 69 Year Old Glencoe Man Passed Away in Hwy 26 Head on Collision

Glencoe, CA...On February 23, 2018, at approximately 1515 hours, CHP San Andreas units responded to a traffic collision on SR-26 at Ponderosa Way in Glencoe. The investigating officers determined that Party 1# was driving her 2013 Hyundai SR-26 eastbound approaching Ponderosa Way. Party #2 was driving his 1985 Toyota SR-26 westbound approaching Ponderosa Way and for an unknown reason, Party #1 allowed her vehicle to travel into the westbound lane of SR-26 directly into the path of Party #2. The front of the two vehicles collided. As a result of the collision, both parties sustained fatal injuries at the scene.

It is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in this collision. This collision is still under investigation.

Any witnesses to this collision are encouraged to call the CHP San Andreas office at (209) 754-3541.

The identities of the drivers will be released after notification of next of kin.

At 3 in the afternoon on a clear day at that elevation? Read the report. More likely inattention....distraction. Very sad for all concerned. Best respects....
