Trash Dumping Becoming A Problem on Sheep Ranch Road.

Murphys, CA...One of the great things our local government has done is make disposing of trash easier and cheaper than many of our surrounding counties. In fact it had become a problem for residents of neighboring counties to visit Calaveras just to visit one of our transfer stations. All you have to do is show an ID and it is free for most normal items. Apparently a few locals have missed these memos(Or just didn't want to show and ID). So below are the hours of the transfer stations.

Rock Creek is open every day from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Avery Transfer Station is open Open Fridays through Tuesdays from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Red Hill Transfer Station and Yard is open Fridays through Mondays from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Copperopolis Transfer Station is Open Fridays through Mondays from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

San Andreas Transfer Station is Open Fridays through Mondays from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Paloma Transfer Station is Open Saturdays through Mondays from 11:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Wilseyville Transfer Station is Open Fridays through Mondays from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm

Somebody should check and see if the labels have been removed from those mattresses.
Then you'd have a real investigation to pursue!

Tell the dump-nazi at Red Hill to lighten up and the dumping will get better. I've considered dumping my trash because of that cun+. Instead I find myself driving to Avery or Milton just to avoid her.

that is true with Red Hill, but thinking this is more just people that have no ID or care about this county with their illegal grows and just dumping where ever they want

      F' dopers.

And yes, there are a few at the dump that could use some customer service training, or seek employment elsewhere.

Maybe a new career in septic tank scrubbing.

Agreed. It's looking more and more like the rule-bending whiners are the ones who run afoul of her. This county is chock full of the "rules don't apply to me" crowd. C'mon people, jfc, just figure it out.

Face it neighbors, this is what pot farms bring to your land, legal or not. The workers are all scum bags, and the growers don't give a damn, as long as they rake in the tax free money.

You'd think being a chomo and running a drug house next to the middle school would get you run out of town. Not in T bone todds jurisdiction. That gets you a gold star and poke in the backside by the furdoll.

First sentence of article...
“...local government has done is making disposing...” Ugh! If using the English language is your craft and profession, then proof read or take an English class!
And the first post says “Is there” instead of plural “Are there...”
Don’t make us all look bad, people!

Ps. If the lady is so bad and discouraging proper disposal, why don’t you call and talk to someone in a position to help?

Really dopers? Just reading the comments above I'd say it's full time residents who have been living here for sometime.
I live on Red Hill and see people all the time with yard waste on days the dump is closed. Most of the time they go back with the load, but I've seen a few come back empty. Now I have a camera installed in front on the road, I turn it on Tues through Thursday just to catch the ones who come back empty and I've let the Sheriff Dept know that I have a camera just for that purpose.
To the ones who state they'd dump on the side of a road, you're the ones who trash our county as it is no doubt, it's filthy pigs like you who are wrecking our county, you're just as bad as the dopers, costing our county time, work and money. That's another reason we have the dopers in the first place, all the money in taxes they bring....so we can afford to clean up after the pigs like you who live here all year round, not giving a damn about our beautiful country. You're no better then them, by far.

Thanks, John, for posting this. I’ve never had a real problem with picking up the usual empty beer and chew cans but when something like this happens, it’s just plain discouraging. Though some may choose to believe differently, based on the kind of garbage dumped and school papers within, it’s obvious that this was committed by a local resident, that’s also not difficult to believe from some of the comments above, Pretty sure this individual would blame visitors for not respecting our rural way of life when I nan think of no greater violation than this, and such a blatant disregard for other residents and the environment. We’ve got a great group of neighbors and along with the parcel owner, we’ll get this mess cleaned up. Still, a reminder abour some of those who live among us and choose to blame others for their sad little lives.

Thank you for a thoughtful comment.

I hope the Sheriff's Office is at least trying to identify the people doing the dumping the stuff and bringing whatever charges are possible.

The many stupid comments indicate that many in our community are not taking it seriously. So it is important that Sheriff does take it seriously.

That gal at Red Hill is a wonderful lady who is simply following the rules. I've seen people dump a gallon of oil on the pavement right in front of her when she told them that oil does not go into the transfer bin. I've been there when a neighbor from Greenhorn Creek refused to follow her instructions and THREW a bunch of illegal stuff into the bin, even after she told him "that doesn't go into this bin". And more folks. She and her husband are great stewards of the rules of Red Hill.

I concur. 100% of my dealings with her have been predictably positive, as have all of those around me when I'm there. You must be some kind of special to screw up transfer station rules.

Funny how the whiners provide no detail or logic to support their rants...only "she needs to lighten up" ingnoramus generalizations.
