Minor Injuries in DUI Collision on Hwy 26
Mokelumne Hill, CA...A 31 year old Mokelumne Hill man was driving his 1992 GMC eastbound on State Route 26, east of Sport Hill Rd. at an unknown speed. Due to his unsafe turning movement, he allowed the GMC to leave the south edge of the roadway. As a result, his vehicle traveled out of control and collided with the dirt embankment located on the north shoulder of SR-26. After the collision, he was transported to Mark Twain Medical Center where he was treated for minor injuries. Alcohol appeared to be a factor to this collision. He was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County jail for driving while under the influence of alcohol.
